As a reviewer, he makes a point of finishing a game before writing a review, helping him evaluate each title with a complete understanding of its story, systems, and overall experience.
TacSim is a side mode in 007 First Light that allows players to complete a series of missions, each with unique challenges and objectives. These missions can be compared to the Hitman series, where players can master many different levels that consist of stealth and combat encounters.
At the end of each mission, the game will give you an Agent Score based on your precision and style. This score details how well or how poorly you did in the mission. Getting a high score can be tough, but there are specific methods and actions you can take to raise the score overall.
10 Best Shooters That are Unapologetically Weird
Most of the genre takes itself too seriously, but these titles do the exact opposite.
If you are attempting to rank high in the online leaderboards, you're going to want to learn how to increase your overall score. Read further to learn how you can get a higher score in 007 First Light's TacSim mode.
Prioritize Stealth Over Combat
TacSim rewards players when they go undetected throughout a mission. However, you can't just sneak through a mission and expect to earn a high score. Instead, you want to use the surrounding environment, such as hacking devices to distract the enemy, Phone Darts to make an enemy move locations, and silent takedowns to take them out.
In other words, using "fancy" techniques to maneuver around hostiles without getting spotted is a good way to increase your overall score. However, if you do get caught, it's not the end of the world as combat encounters can actually help with your score, as this guide explains in the next section.
Master Hand-to-Hand Combat
If you do get spotted during a mission, and are forced to engage in hand-to-hand combat, you can increase your overall score by having clean fights. When I say "clean fights," I mean you must do a good job at countering, dodging, and blocking enemy attacks. The less damage you take during fighting, the higher your overall Agent Score will be at the end of the mission.
10 Best Games With Third & First-Person
Because life is all about perspective.
You can increase your score even further by adding some flare to your fighting. For example, you can throw objects at the enemy to stun them, throw an enemy into an electrical box to electrocute them, or even throw an enemy into another enemy, knocking them both to the ground. My favorite is pushing an enemy into a fire extinguisher, damaging everyone around you.
Utilize Gadgets Efficiently
As you progress through TacSim and complete challenges, you will reach a higher clearance level. Having a higher clearance level allows you to unlock additional gadgets, which can then be used in more TacSim missions. Gadgets can be used to drastically increase your Agent Score, as they can add style and precision to your run.
For example, as mentioned before, you can use a Phone Dart to make an enemy sick and distract them. However, you can use the more powerful gadgets, such as the Missile Pen and the Shockwave Camera to deal damage to an enemy from afar. Using gadgets in the midst of combat, whether its hand-to-hand combat or an all-out shootout, to disrupt your enemy is even better and will further raise your score.
Slick Gunplay
Players can increase their overall TacSim Agent Score by doing well in gun fights. I don't just mean land headshots, which you should still definitely do to earn a high score, but I also mean using the surrounding environment to your advantage. Shoot red explosive barrels to damage multiple hostiles at once, shoot down parts of the ceiling to fall down on an enemy, etc.
Additionally, make sure to shoot the gun out of the enemy's hands to disarm them and shoot them in the leg to open them up for a free takedown. Also, throw your weapon at an enemy when it's out of ammo, as this is a good way to add style points to your overall Agent Score in TacSim.
