IO Interactive’s 007 First Light is one of 206’s most anticipated games.
The developer of the Hitman franchise is bringing back the James Bond franchise from the dead following a string of disappointing releases by Activision. The most recent entry, 2012’s 007 Legends, was a commercial and critical failure. Activision would lose the license to the James Bond franchise just a year later.
First announced in 2020, 007 First Light aims to deliver an original James Bond story that shows how Bond received his 00 status. Here’s an official description of the game’s story from IO directly:
Players will step into the shoes of a 26-year-old Bond, a promising yet sometimes rebellious Royal Navy air crewman who is recruited into MI6, immersing them in the exotic and dangerous world of espionage. Bond’s adventures will take players all around the globe, coming face to face with allies and foes while choosing how they overcome obstacles and challenges, whether it be with brute force, cunning guile, or charming wit.

007 First Light Prices Revealed, And Collectors Will Have To Shell Out
The standard edition of 007 First Light will cost $70, but the collector's edition will be a couple hundred dollars more.
Gameplay wise, it also feels reminiscent of the Hitman games, which is, of course, a good thing. Hitman has become renowned for its open-ended third-person action and is a natural fit for the James Bond franchise.
As its release date quickly approaches, IO Interactive, in collaboration with NVIDIA, has announced the minimum and required specs for the PC version of the game.

Here’s the full list of minimum and recommended specs your PC will need to run 007 First Light. At first glance, they’re surprisingly reasonable. Given the current prices of PC parts, that's a very welcome thing.

Meet The Cast Of 007: First Light
IO Interactive recently revealed the actors for a few members of 007 First Light's cast
Not needing to pick up a newer video card, which will run you a pretty penny in 2026, means more people can play 007 First Light than we otherwise thought. That's good news, because apparently, through a partnership with NVIDIA, the PC version of the game will feature an "enhanced experience."
“Our partnership with NVIDIA on 007 First Light allows us to deliver a PC experience that matches the level of quality we believe the Bond franchise deserves,” said Ulas Karademir, CTO for IO Interactive, in a statement. “Performance, responsiveness, and visual fidelity, it all needs to feel effortless for the player, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX technologies including DLSS 4 enables us to deliver exactly that.”
At the end of the day, as long as we don't have to spend hundreds of dollars upgrading our PC to play the game, that's all we care about.
007 First Light will release on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on May 27th.
