10 Best Hiding Spots in Art Gallery in Meccha Chameleon

The Art Gallery is one of, if not the most popular maps in Meccha Chameleon, and for good reason. It isn't overly large, giving both chameleons and hunters a fair space to roam, and it is full of beautiful artwork that is difficult to spot chameleons in, but gives a massive sense of satisfaction when you do.

With millions of people playing Meccha Chameleon, this map has seen its fair share of use, but if you are new to it, you probably don't know some of the best places to hide. You better choose a painting before it's too late, and get painting quickly.

10 Security Camera

Out of the Box

Strangely enough, the first hiding spot I would suggest is not to jump into a painting and masterfully recreate a well-known piece of artwork. Instead, there is a one-off hiding spot that you can fool your friends with that they probably won't see coming.

Stick around the spawn location on the map, jump above the doorway, and paint yourself the color of the wall. Afterward, paint your head black to match the security camera.

This very unassuming hiding spot is one that many people often overlook, and I have been in multiple games where people have never thought about it because they are too focused on everyone jumping into paintings.

9 St. John the Baptist

Next to the spawn, you can find the painting of St. John the Baptist. This painting offers some great versatility for hiding. For instance, you can paint yourself in his body, hand, or a blank space.

The darkness of the painting is easy to hide in, but you can also masterfully paint yourself into his hand. This gives some extra detail to help you stay hidden if you are able to match it well enough.

Dark paintings are usually easier to hide in, as the contrast definitely helps, and this is one of the easier paintings to jump right into and get a lot of extra time to paint on.

8 The Last Supper

Hiding in Religion

The Last Supper has an advantage that none of the other paintings do, and that is the distance the hunter stands from it. The painting is massive, but it is also far away from the hunter, making it pretty easy to hide in.

While you can easily paint yourself into the walls or the table, I always find it better to hide as the main figure of Jesus himself, as hiding in the robes offers cross-sections that help your character blend in.

You don't need to hide in the robes of the central figure either, you can jump into various parts of this painting. My second favorite is the legs of the table.

7 Garbage Can

Be the Garbage

I have already covered one out-of-the-box hiding spot in the Art Gallery, so it is time to cover another, and that is the garbage can. Surprisingly, not many people mention that you can hide inside the garbage cans.

You can only fit in the can using the curled-up on the side pose, and you will need to maneuver yourself a bit to not blink, but once you are in there, you can paint yourself the color of the bag and blend right in.

To add to it, you can paint trash on yourself, but it is hardly necessary. It is also a spot that is overlooked and easy to hide in because many people hide in the paintings in the next room, allowing the whistles to blend in with yours.

6 The Annunciation

Hidden in Shadow

The Annunciation is a wider painting in the room next to the spawn location, and it is one of the easier paintings to hide in. This is because there is a lengthy shadow next to the winged person on the left side.

This shadow is the perfect size for you to shift your character into the lying sideways pose. Once in this position, color match the shadow and paint yourself into this masterpiece.

It is one of the more simple hiding spots that is very difficult to spot. I have seen many hunters completely overlook it because the chameleon blends in too much.

5 Impression, Sunrise

Impressionism

In the room next to where The Last Supper is, you can find Impression, Sunrise. This impressive piece by Monet is relatively easy to paint yourself into, and easy to overlook.

Strangely enough, many gloss over this painting as they walk through the room where it hangs. This might be because it is positioned in such a way where you can easily see it from the door, so many think they have already seen it.

The other doorway doesn't offer a good view of it, but it positions the eyes on the opposite wall, making hunters focus on other paintings.

4 Boat Painting

Near Impression

Directly next to Impression, Sunrise, is a painting that is incredibly dark, making it easy to blend into it. You basically can lay down, paint yourself one color, and fit in perfectly.

The same benefits of Impression, Sunrise apply to this painting, where it is positioned in a way where people tend to overlook it. Thanks to the dark coloration, it is easier to paint yourself into the painting as well.

I have seen multiple people run to this room at the start of a match and fail to be found, and the area they usually hide is in one of these two paintings.

3 A Burial at Ornans

Hide in the Dress

There is a dark room near the spawn that contains some good paintings, but the best of them is A Burial at Ornans, as this painting has many dark features that make it easy to hide in and impossible to be found.

The painting is full of many settlers with dark outfits, making it easy to blend into them. From any distance, painting yourself the same color as these dresses, will allow you to blend in seamlessly.

You can add a bit of texture to yourself, but that isn't necessary, as many people will overlook these paintings or get lost in the details.

2 Napoleon

In the Cape

There is another room that has a piano, and some amazing paintings, but perhaps the best to hide in is the painting of Napoleon. This famous painting of him on his horse has some cross-sections that make it more difficult to spot people hiding within it.

I prefer to jump into the area at the end of his cape, painting myself into the background, and adding a bit of the cape across the body. This helps conceal the body of the chameleon more, making it that much harder to be found.

The lighting also plays a big role in helping you hide here, as it makes it a bit more difficult to see, which is always an advantage.

1 Last Day in Pompeii

Burning

In the furthest room from the spawn location, you can find three massive paintings, and while they may seem difficult to hide in, the reality is quite different. My favorite of the three is Last Day in Pompeii.

This massive painting has a lot going on, but that also helps you blend in. My favorite spots are in the darkness of the top left corner, the fire and stone on the right side, and occasionally hiding among the people on the bottom left.

I have been in multiple games where there have been more than one person hiding in this painting and nobody was found. This just shows how effective hiding in this painting can be.
