Leading up to the release of Resident Evil Requiem, many fans were speculating who else would be featured in the game, and got to experience that hype of getting to experience it all when it finally came out. Now that it's been out for a little while and doing better than ever, it was quickly revealed that we aren't going to be done with it anytime soon.
Capcom recently confirmed that there is going to be a story expansion (DLC) as well as an additional game mode (which many of us are theorizing is Mercenaries), and now the fandom is alight with the same speculations about who would be featured in the DLC.

10 Reasons Why Resident Evil Requiem is the Scariest Entry Since the Series’ Revival
We were hoping that Resident Evil Requiem would be scary — what we didn't expect was for it to be absolutely terrifying.
Resident Evil fans were graced (pun intended) with several legacy characters, or at the very least, characters with connections to those legacy characters. Yet, there were a lot of characters that were left out and weren't even mentioned, and many of us are scratching our heads and wondering what happened to them.
Hopefully, the DLC will focus on at least one of these characters, otherwise they had better be in Resident Evil X.
This article will contain spoilers for who is and isn't in Resident Evil Requiem, as well as a few story moments.
10 Alyssa Ashcroft (Properly)
Can We Play Her Again?
There's a brief section in Resident Evil Requiem where you play as Grace while she's a teenager living on the move with her mom, Alyssa Ashcroft. It's a pretty straightforward section, one that details how Alyssa was murdered in the first place... and that's the only time we truly see her. The only other time she's in the game is during her interview with Spencer.
Resident Evil: Outbreak fans were a little bummed by the fact that we didn't really see a lot of Alyssa, but her presence was definitely felt. She haunted the narrative like the ghost she is, but with the DLC, I hope we come back to her.
I'd love to see the DLC focus more on Alyssa and Grace's time on the move, playing as Alyssa while she's keeping so much hidden and even more protected from her daughter. If we actually have a chance to play her properly, that would not only be a really cool touch for Outbreak fans, but it also has a lot of story potential.
But, if Capcom wishes to keep her a ghost, then a ghost she'll remain.
9 Carlos Oliveira
It's Been a Cold, Cruel, Carlos-less World
There are a few characters that make an appearance in only a single game, without any mention or lead of what they're doing after surviving those events, and Resident Evil 3's Carlos Oliveira is a prime example of one of those characters. When we meet him, he's an Umbrella operative, one that is unaware of Umbrella's overall evil doings; but once he becomes aware, he leaves Umbrella immediately.
What has he been up to since then? Clearly, he has a military skillset that's highly coveted in this franchise (that's how the government snagged Leon, after all), but we never see him involved anywhere else after the events of Nemesis. Sure, he could be keeping a low profile, but based on what we see of Carlos throughout all of RE3, he's not the type to just let things happen.
I'd love to know what Carlos has been doing all this time, but given how disconnected he is from Requiem, I also know that the chances of ever seeing him again are slim.
One of my favourite headcanons (that I'm almost positive isn't ever going to be canon, but it's still just fun) is that he actually becomes part of the Hound Wolf Squad, just not one of the main members. If the DLC focuses on the squad and if Carlos is actually in it, that would be a fever dream in all the best ways.
8 Jake Muller
Why Clone Wesker When We Have His Son?
Resident Evil 6 did a lot when it comes to the series' lore, including the inclusion of a new character, one that we find out to be
Albert Wesker's one and only son: Jake Muller.
Throughout Requiem, we keep running into Zeno, a Wesker clone that divided a lot of fans. Sure, it's a plausible story that makes sense, but it seems that Capcom and the fandom are doing everything in their power to bring back Wesker by any way, shape, or form. Jake isn't a villain like his father is, but neither was Jill in Resident Evil 5. Mind control is well within the realm of possibility here; plus, mind control was a primary goal of Elpis — that could have been explored in fascinating ways through Jake.

It's Time to Admit Resident Evil 6 is Great, Actually
The "worst Resident Evil game" isn't even that bad in the first place.
In fact, we don't really know anything that Jake has been doing after the events of RE6, other than actively working to take down B.O.W.s. Given that his father is being cloned to create even more B.O.W.s in Requiem, this seems like something he would immediately be trying to handle, but he's not there.
Then again, Sherry Birkin is hard at work being the person at the desk for Leon, so maybe Jake is at home doing the dishes and making sure everything is ready for when she comes back at the end of her shift.
7 Barry Burton
Did He Take on Any Hobbies?
Barry Burton has always been a more underrated character in the franchise, so it's not too surprising that he wasn't featured in Requiem, but it was still a bummer. The most we got was a scavenger hunt he had organized for a couple S.T.A.R.S. members, one that resulted in us finding zoo tickets in JoJo's locker.
It just made us miss him all the more, and it made us want to go to that zoo (which, of course, is the same zoo that we visited in Outbreak), even better if we went with him.
Then again, he was significantly older than most of the other S.T.A.R.S. members, being 38 in 1998 — which would put him at 66 years old during the events of Requiem (which takes place in 2026), well within the age of retirement in America. So here's hoping that he's actually just enjoying retirement life, but it would be nice to know what he's been up to.
6 Ashley Graham
What is She Doing Now?
The original Resident Evil 4 made Ashley Graham one of the most hated characters in the entire Resident Evil franchise, but when her character was altered in the Resident Evil 4 Remake, she immediately became one of the most fascinating. In fact, she seemed to show an interest in the kind of work Leon was doing, even if it's only from the chair.
But, just like with Carlos and many other characters, we only ever see her in the single game that she was featured in, learning next to nothing about what she's been up to in the meantime. The most we're able to figure out that we canonically have is that she gets a dog, nothing else is mentioned at all.
If she ends up not being a part of the same kind of work Leon is doing, that's fine, but she has ties to the government (which Requiem details to be corrupt and bought-out), strings that she's able to pull in order to get a proper outcome for Leon or whoever else she ends up helping. I'm just saying, she showed herself to be more than capable in the remake continuity.
It would be nice to see a small moment with her in the DLC, even if it's just a brief scene that serves as nostalgia bait, or even if it's just a mention of what she's doing with other government officials, especially after Grace's Report is published.
5 Ada Wong
No Mention, No Campaign, Nothing
We have never had a mainline Resident Evil game feature Leon that doesn't also feature Ada Wong, the iconic anti-hero in red that captured Leon's heart, but Requiem ended up being the first. There's no sight of her, no campaign with her, not even a mere mention of her name, and the game genuinely felt like it was lacking as a result.
Because of this, many of us are hoping and praying that the DLC will feature her, on her own and doing her own thing like she always has. It truly doesn't feel right to not have her share the game with Leon; they've always been a package duo in these games, even though Ada's missions are freelanced.

10 Games to Play if You Love Resident Evil Requiem
If you just beat Resident Evil Requiem and are looking for games that will give a similar experience, we've got you covered.
It feels wrong to have a Resident Evil game where there are so many different organizations trying to lay claim to a virus, especially Elpis, without Ada being a part of one of those organizations. And, knowing Ada, she would have succeeded in getting a sample for whoever was paying her, and it would branch off into all kinds of interesting outcomes.
Here's hoping that she'll be more of a main player in the DLC, because she's that essential to so many of Leon's stories. Besides, Leon's whole sections were about him facing his past and correcting it — Ada would absolutely be a part of that past.
4 Rebecca Chambers
She'd Know How to Handle Elpis
Unlike a lot of characters in the Resident Evil series, we actually know what Rebecca Chambers gets up to after the events of Raccoon City. She went into biotech, working for various universities and obtaining her Doctorate's in virology. With this, she's able to effectively manufacture cures to the many different viruses the BSAA and other anti-terrorism organizations keep encountering.
It would have been absolutely fascinating to see how she'd react to Elpis, and how quickly she'd figure out it's actually an antivirus to everything Spencer had made up until now. Given her incredible intellect, especially in biotechnology, she probably would be able to tell something is off about it immediately.
Because of this, I would love to see a DLC focused around her biotech work, especially with how it relates to Elpis. Leon and Sherry aren't the only ones with Raccoon City Syndrome, so Rebecca would have to find a way to mass-produce the dosage that was obtained, so that way everyone else who is affected (which also likely includes Rebecca herself) will be cured.
Plus, we have no idea what's next after Elpis, but Rebecca would definitely be the one to figure out how to handle it.
3 Chris Redfield
The Aura is Felt From Here
While Chris Redfield wasn't technically in the game, he was clearly mentioned, with Leon asking where he is, and of course, after both Leon and Grace were rescued by the Hound Wolf Squad. He doesn't show up, but players could feel his aura upon the mere mention of his name. We're just wondering why he was brought up, but never shown.
Then again, if Zeno had faced off against Chris instead of Leon, Zeno probably would have tasted the floor. The whole point of Chris bulking up by Resident Evil 5 was so that he could never be manhandled by Wesker again after being relatively helpless during the Spencer Mansion Incident. And, Zeno is merely an imitation of the real Wesker, and that's after being assisted by several different viruses that Elpis completely nullified.
But, thankfully for Zeno, Chris never got to meet him; he was too busy commanding his squad.
A lot of us are thinking that the DLC is going to focus on Chris and his squad, especially since they're just as set on obtaining Elpis as the Umbrella operatives are, but the Hound Wolf Squad would eat any operative (including H.U.N.K.) for breakfast, especially with Chris being front and center. It just makes too much sense for the DLC to focus on them, and it would be genuinely surprising to a lot of us if they're not brought back for the story expansion.
2 Claire Redfield
She was in RE2, Too!
Resident Evil Requiem wasn't going to make all the OG fans happy, and that's fine — but, the game didn't have to insult Claire Redfield by basically erasing her from the story, a story that she practically helped write. She's not in Requiem, nor is she even mentioned, not by Leon nor Sherry, even though Claire was the one that rescued and protected Sherry throughout Resident Evi 2, not Leon.
There are so, so many callbacks and references to Resident Evil 2 (while using Resident Evil 2 Remake assets), but not a single one of these references ties back to Claire. She was the complete other campaign!

This isn't even considering how likely she also suffers from Raccoon City Syndrome, most likely at a similar infection rate as Leon, but Leon's only focus is to find another dosage for Sherry, not anyone else. It doesn't really make sense that she's been completely omitted in Requiem... unless they're saving her for the DLC.
Because while we all know that Leon is Sherry's adoptive father, we can't forget her adoptive mother, the one who protected her every step of the way. Put some respect on Claire's name.
1 Jill Valentine
Has Anyone Seen My Wife?
Does anyone remember that Jill Valentine even existed? Other than the Resident Evil 3 Remake, the only recent appearance we see of her is in Resident Evil: Death Island, which is one of the CGI movies that fans can't agree on if it's canon. This means that her most recent canonical appearance is from 2015, shortly after the events of Resident Evil 5.
And yet, just like with so many other legacy characters, she's not shown or even mentioned in the game. The most we're able to find is her beret in the S.T.A.R.S. office, and it's a miracle that the thing is even in one piece. She wasn't seen, which too many of us have come to expect by now, but she hadn't been seen in so long, properly anyway, and it's something that's just outright devastating to Jill Valentine fans (such as myself, she is my wife after all).
However, putting her in the DLC is the perfect way to bring her back in, especially with how in Death Island she was itching to get put back in the field. Whether or not she'd be working with Chris is mostly irrelevant, because we just want to see Jill come back into the franchise period. I'm really hoping these two main characters get put back in the spotlight where they belong.
