After about seven years since The Mandalorian first debuted on Disney+ and seven years since Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker premiered, Star Wars has finally returned to theaters with the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu.
Set after The Mandalorian's third season but before Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens, The Mandalorian and Grogu follows Din Djarin and his Force-sensitive apprentice Grogu as they set out to hunt down Imperial warlords for the New Republic, only to get entangled in a conflict with the Hutt Cartel.
10 Star Wars Games That Feel Completely Different Once You Understand the Lore
These 10 Star Wars games play completely different in positive ways for those who read and understand their background lore.
While The Mandalorian and Grogu is projected to gross less revenue than any other live-action theatrical SW film, it will likely please the millions of fans of the titular pair's adventures and those who enjoy the works of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.
For fans of The Mandalorian and Grogu hoping to delve deeper into the SW universe or hoping to experience stories similar to the pair's latest quest, here's a list of 10 games fans of the latest SW film should check out.
Minor spoilers for The Mandalorian and Grogu ahead.
10 Dishonored 2
Pedro Pascal's Sole Gaming Credit
People who love The Mandalorian are likely fans of Pedro Pascal, the star who voices and occasionally physically portrays Djarin when it's not Brendan Wayne or Lateef Crowder under the beskar armor.
Pascal has appeared in several award-winning films and shows, such as The Wild Robot and Game of Thrones, but he's only appeared in one video game so far, with that game being Arkane Lyon's first-person stealth action game Dishonored 2.
A follow-up to the critically acclaimed Dishonored, Dishonored 2 has people play as returning protagonist Corvo Attano or his daughter Emily Caldwin as they utilize their stealth skills and supernatural abilities to regain control of the steampunk city of Dunwall after both characters were stripped of their power in a coup.
Pascal plays Paolo, leader of the Howler Gang in the coastal city of Karnaca, who strives to improve life in the city through well-intentioned but often brutal means, such as fighting the oppressive Overseers or using food supplies as bargaining chips.
9 Fallout: New Vegas
The Definitive Sci-Fi Western
From their inception, The Mandalorian series and film were designed to be space westerns that infused traditional western, cowboy-centric tropes with the space opera galaxy of Star Wars, and if people ever wanted to play a great sci-fi western game, they've got to check out Fallout: New Vegas.
Based on concepts for Black Isle Studios' original Fallout 3 project, Fallout: New Vegas has players embody an amnesiac courier in the 200-year-old nuclear wasteland of the United States' Mojave Desert as they set out to get revenge on those who wronged them or to get involved with numerous factions, such as Caesar's Legion.
Being an RPG, players can practically make their courier character in New Vegas into anything they want, from a hulking, power armor-wearing tank to a slick gunslinger wandering the wastes with trusty companions by their side, like the cyborg dog Rex or the Ghoul Raul Tejada, played by Danny Trejo.
While New Vegas may not take place in space like SW, players can still encounter a wide plethora of colorful characters, both human and otherwise, who are at the center of incredibly enthralling stories, just like the Mandalorian and Grogu's journey.
8 Star Wars: Squadrons
Flying for the New Republic
Given that The Mandalorian and Grogu is set after Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi, much of the film focuses on the New Republic and its struggle to maintain peace in a post-Galactic Empire galaxy, and if people wanted to learn more about the New Republic, they should play Star Wars: Squadrons.
A first-person flight simulator, Star Wars: Squadrons is set primarily four years after the Battle of Endor and has players play as members of the New Republic Vanguard Squadron and the Imperial Titan Squadron as Vanguard attempts to aid Project Starhawk while Titan attempts to thwart Vanguard's operations.

These 10 Star Wars games perfected the art of the lightsaber.
The somewhat brief single-player campaign of Squadrons is a lot of fun as players get to pilot the game's eight main starfighters and learn how the remnants of the Empire and the young New Republic navies operate, with a few cameos from some of SW's most iconic pilots enhancing the overall experience.
On top of the campaign, Squadrons additionally features an addictive PvP multiplayer, pitting teams of players in space dogfights or objective-focused Fleet Battles with players having to form balanced fighter squads in order to efficiently take down enemy fighters and massive capital ships.
7 No Man's Sky
Exploring Alien Worlds
Just like every other Star Wars film, The Mandalorian and Grogu has audiences travel to a wide variety of planets, from the metropolitan-filled Shakari to the lush swamps of Nal Hutta, and players can recreate that experience of exploring new alien worlds with Hello Games' No Man's Sky.
A first and third-person open world survival game, No Man's Sky is famous for featuring countless procedurally generated alien worlds filled with their own unique ecosystems and wildlife for players to explore and document.
On these planets, players can gather resources to construct their own bases, outposts, and ships, which can then be used to explore other planets and space stations as well as take part in PvE space battles against spacefaring aliens.
Players don't have to explore these extraterrestrial worlds alone, however, as the game can be played entirely in 32-player multiplayer with cross-play across all modern platforms, including being available on virtual reality systems.
6 The Outer Worlds
Fallout In Space
While Obsidian Entertainment is arguably best known for creating New Vegas, often regarded as the best entry in the Fallout franchise, they've created a sci-fi RPG franchise of their very own with The Outer Worlds.
Set in an alternate future where megacorporations dominate humanity and have led the venture into space colonization, The Outer Worlds takes place in the Halcyon system, the farthest colonized system from Earth, home to the Halcyon Holdings Corporation and six worlds.
Here, players embody a long-lost passenger of the colony vessel Hope as they strive to revive the rest of their crew and help free the system from the corrupt HHC whilst exploring each planet, its dieselpunk-inspired settlements, and meeting its storied inhabitants.
New Vegas may be more of a western RPG than The Outer Worlds, but if players were hoping to find an RPG that's more akin to adventures seen in The Mandalorian show and movie, they'd be hard-pressed to find a better one out there than The Outer Worlds.
5 Starfield
A Modded Star Wars Paradise
Bethesda made a spacefaring RPG of their own a few years ago with Starfield, and while it may seem similar to The Outer Worlds at first glance, Starfield will likely appeal to more Star Wars fans than Obsidian's sci-fi RPG for one simple reason: Star Wars mods.
If players download the Star Wars Genesis mod for Starfield, it will practically transform the entire game into an SW title, with Starfield's planets turned into ones from the films, such as Coruscant, NPCs using SW lingo, and people being able to play as a variety of SW aliens from the classic Weequay to Gungans.
Players can even construct or purchase ships from SW, such as the TIE Advanced X1, the Naboo N-1 Starfighter, and Djarin's very own ST-70 assault ship to use to fly from planet to planet and take part in space combat.
On the ground, every enemy is decked out with SW gear that players can loot for themselves, such as raiders using Bedlam Raider gear from Star Wars Jedi: Survivor or even using the modified AT-ST from the first season of The Mandalorian, making Starfield a perfect single-player RPG for SW if they use the Genesis mod.
4 Star Wars Outlaws
Diving into Star Wars' Criminal Underworld
Much of The Mandalorian and Grogu focuses on the status of Star Wars' criminal underworld post Return of the Jedi, particularly the state of the Hutt Cartel in the wake of Jabba the Hutt's death, and if people wanted to learn more about the galaxy's various criminal syndicates, they should play Star Wars Outlaws.
Ubisoft's first RPG set in the Star Wars universe, Star Wars Outlaws has people play aspiring young criminal Kay Vess in between Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi as she strives to make a name for herself in the criminal underworld alongside her trusty pet Nix.
Players in Outlaws will be able to explore five planets seen in SW films, shows, and described in novels, including Akiva, Cantonica, Kijima, Tatooine, and Toshara in third-person, while also being able to fly from planet to planet aboard Vess' stolen ship, called the Trailblazer, which can take part in space dogfights.
What makes Outlaws particularly fun is its reputation system, which can have Vess become allied with the Hutt Cartel, the Ashiga Clan, the Pyke Syndicate, or Crimson Dawn, with Vess' actions causing her to gain or lose favor with other criminal organizations, causing some to become hostile toward her or provide her with useful info.
3 The Last of Us Part I
A Tragic Story of Fatherhood
Since the early 2010s, shows and movies have begun using the trope of an old rugged man reluctantly taking a young kid under their wing, only for their journey together to change who they both are, as seen in Logan, Sweet Tooth, and The Mandalorian.
This trope has also been repeatedly used, often to critical acclaim, in video games, with arguably the best example of which being seen in The Last of Us Part I, which saw humanity be nearly wiped out by a viral outbreak of the zombie-like Cordyceps fungus.
20 years after the outbreak began, players primarily play as the gruff smuggler Joel as he's begrudgingly tasked with bringing a young girl named Ellie across the ruins of the United States to a group called the Fireflies in an effort to hopefully develop a cure and save the world.
The Mandalorian and Grogu fans may particularly enjoy playing through The Last of Us, as the game and its sequel were used as the basis for HBO's The Last of Us show, which stars Pedro Pascal as Joel.
2 Pragmata
Hugh and Diana's Incredible Journey
Ever since The Last of Us debuted to widespread acclaim, especially for its narrative, several other games have used the aforementioned trope to tell more enthralling stories, such as 2018's God of War, with the most recent game to use said trope being Capcom's Pragmata.
Set in the near future, where humanity discovered the lunar lunum ore, a material that could be used to replicate anything, players embody Delphi Corporation engineer Hugh Williams as he's sent as part of a response team to investigate a communication blackout on the lunar Cradle outpost.
Williams is separated from his team following a lunar quake, only to be rescued by a lunum android resembling a young girl designated Pragmata D-I-0336-7, later named Diana, with the two joining forces to investigate the outpost and save humanity from an artificial threat.
If people loved the frankly adorable relationship between Djarin and Grogu in The Mandalorian show and film, they'll instantly become enthralled with Williams and Diana's father-daughter-like relationship throughout Pragamta, with Diana even often riding Williams' shoulders just like Grogu does with Djarin.
1 Star Wars: Bounty Hunter
The Best Mandalorian Game To Date
Many Star Wars games allow people to play as Mandalorians, often in the form of Boba Fett, but there are not many SW titles out there with Mandalorians as the focus of the game's narrative, with one of the best that does being the third-person action-adventure game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter.
Taking place 10 years before Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter has players embody famed bounty hunter Jango Fett as he's contracted by Darth Tyranus to hunt down and eliminate the Bando Gora crime syndicate and its Force-sensitive leader Komari Vosa.
Bounty Hunter truly lets people live the dream of being a Mandalorian, more so than any other SW title, as players can capture bounties on practically every being in the galaxy using Fett's jetpack, flamethrower, poison darts, whip cords, and his iconic WESTAR-34 blaster pistols.
The plot of Bounty Hunter is also remarkably similar to The Mandalorian and Grogu in many ways, with the game opening on Fett having to fight monstrous alien creatures in an arena and later getting into a conflict with Gardulla the Hutt and her pet krayt dragon.
