We don't get many games like 007 First Light anymore, a game that is purely focused on telling a good story, has engaging stealth gameplay, and takes a creative approach to a beloved famous character. It's one of the best games of 2026 for many reasons, but it mostly stands out for its presentation and style.

Unfortunately, 007 First Light isn't a long game and only lasts about 15 hours, sometimes even shorter. This short-lived experience can leave you wanting more, either having you replay the game, or looking for your next fix elsewhere. Luckily, there are games that are actually very similar to IO Interactives' latest adventure.

Most of the genre takes itself too seriously, but these titles do the exact opposite.

10 Dishonored 2

Open Ended Stealth Gameplay

Dishonored 2

You may be surprised that a first-person game is similar to 007 First Light, which is from a third-person perspective, but Dishonored 2 shares many similarities with James Bond's latest espionage. Dishonored 2 is all about choice, allowing the player to create their own unique adventure by approaching missions in many different ways. Deciding which route to take, which enemy to kill or not to kill, and which abilities to use at what time is left up to the player. While 007 doesn't have abilities, per se, he does use gadgets that change the feel of gameplay.

Both games have a similar stealth structure in that you have to use the surrounding environment to your advantage. This open-ended approach to mission design could make your playthrough feel different from another player's, since you may have found a completely different method to complete your objective. Dishonored 2 also has a fantastic story with multiple outcomes, and while 007 First Light's narrative is linear and only consists of one outcome, both are super engaging and exciting to follow.

9 Ghost Recon: Breakpoint

Recon and Infiltration

Ghost Recon Breakpoint-1

007 First Light shines in its tactical approach to missions, demanding that the player analyze the surrounding environment to find a way forward. Whether it be a hidden vent, a window that leads to the outside area that allows you to go around enemies, or a pipe to climb that leads to the higher ground, there is always a secret way forward that will give you an advantage. It places an emphasis on tactical positioning, and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint does the same thing.

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint puts players in large enemy compounds, where the objective is to find the best way to infiltrate the location. You will spend most of your time finding entry points, identifying an enemy's patrol route, and then deciding on the best route to take. While making your move, you will silently takedown enemies with a stealth approach, sometimes disabling security systems and cameras, and trying your best to go undetected. In other words, the overall stealth feels similar to the design philosophy of 007 First Light.

8 James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing

Another Grand Bond Adventure

James Bond 007 Everything or Nothing
James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing

I know you are probably thinking it's a cop out to include another James Bond game in this list, but 007 First Light and Everything or Nothing isn't similar for the reasons you might expect. Everything or Nothing doesn't use the tactical approach to gameplay like 007 First Light. However, it does tell one of the best James Bond stories outside the movies, similar to 007 First Light. Both approach their narrative in a movie-like fashion, with brilliant pacing and dialogue that keeps you guessing from start to finish.

There have been many James Bond games released in the past three decades, and while many have been fantastic entries, none have been able to capture the essence of the famous spy as much as 007 First Light, Everything or Nothing, and GoldenEye. GoldenEye is a great choice too, by the way, if you are looking for another Bond game, but it's run-and-gun gameplay isn't as close to 007 First Light than Everything or Nothing.

7 Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

A Sandbox Worth Playing

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and 007 First Light share many similarities in their mission designs. The sandbox-like nature of each mission in 007 First Light, where players can decide how to approach stealth, or which route to take to their objective, is present in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, even to a larger degree. In Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, players will rely heavily on gadgets and tools to manipulate the surrounding environment in order to progress forward, and since there are so many ways to do this, player freedom is at the forefront of the experience.

Tired of playing Gears of War? Here are some of the best alternatives.

Also, one of the greatest features in 007 First Light is the ability to use social manipulation to get what you want. For example, you can use the "bluff" or "fake surrender" options to persuade a hostile enemy, giving you an advantage during a mission. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has a similar mechanic, where you can use social manipulation tools to persuade characters and make your mission easier overall. It's much deeper in Deus Ex: Mankind, so if you loved that mechanic from 007 First Light, you'll love it even more in Deus Ex.

6 Batman: Arkham Knight

Punch, Kick, Finish

Batman Arkham Knight

Some of the greatest moments in 007 First Light come from its hand-to-hand combat, a system that focuses on countering, dodging, and smacking foes into the surrounding environment. It's some of the best hand-to-hand combat that we have seen in any game for a very long time. Fortunately, there's a game that offers similar combat, and that is Batman: Arkham Knight. The hand-to-hand combat formula between the two games feels very similar, although 007 First Light is more realistic, while Arkham Knight is faster and more acrobatic due to Batman being a superhero.

However, both games feature fighting combat that demands the player to switch between enemies constantly, keeping an eye on dodging or countering indicators. Environmental takedowns, exciting finishers, crowd management, and switching between punching and defending, are present in both of these games that make them feel like one of the same. Additionally, both Batman and Bond can use gadgets to their advantage during these combat encounters, making them feel even more similar.

A Fantastic Remake

Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

Metal Gear Solid is one of the most popular and well-known series of all time in video games, and for good reason. They not only offer some of the best stealth gameplay of any game on the market, but they also tell incredible stories from the mind of Hideo Kojima. The mix of top-notch stealth and a great narrative that will keep you guessing, makes this series perfect for players who love 007 First Light and are looking for their next fix.

For the sake of this list, and if I had to pick one MGS game, I would say that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is the best choice for players looking for their next adventure after Bond. Snake Eater is a brilliant remake that makes a classic feel modern, without ever losing its charm. Expect an engaging narrative that takes you to beautiful locations, creative sandbox stealth levels, and incredible voice performances, just like 007 First Light.

4 Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist

The Stealth Approach

Splinter Cell Blacklist

Similar to Metal Gear Solid, Splinter Cell is one of the most famous franchises in all gaming. It's a real shame that we haven't received a new one in 13 years, but it's good to know that we have a remake on the way. The reason this franchise is so beloved is that it offers an incredible take on the spy fantasy, including superb stealth gameplay, with open-ended approaches to its missions, allowing the player to attack each level with aggression or at a slow pace.

10 Best Tom Clancy Games, Ranked

There are tons of Tom Clancy games, but which one is the best? This list can help you decide.

If you want to go through a mission completely unseen in Splinter Cell: Blacklist, you can definitely do that. It's a game that doesn't lock you into a single playstyle, which is something that's rare these days. Like 007 First Light, line of sight and enemy awareness is important in Blacklist, forcing the player to think on their feet if they don't want to be spotted. The story also shares some similarities with 007 First Light, as it tells a story of a conspiracy against the government.

3 Hitman 3

World of Assassination

Hitman 3

If you didn't know, the Hitman series is created by the same developers who made 007 First Light, IO Interactive. It's because of this that 007 First Light and Hitman 3 share a lot of DNA, so much so that some players have been calling the game "Hitman but in the James Bond universe." Both of these games focus on large sandbox levels, giving the player many different ways to complete each area and multiple ways to engage with stealth, adding a ton of replayability.

If you're one of the players who wished 007 First Light went even further when it comes to stealth improvisation, and felt that it was maybe too on rails, Hitman 3 is the game for you. Hitman is all about assassination, where players will use disguises to their advantage, lockpicks, distractions, poisons, hackable devices, etc. It offers the definitive spy fantasy in its mission-based gameplay, but just keep in mind that it doesn't have as great a narrative as 007 First Light.

2 Watch Dogs 2

All About Hacking

Watch Dogs 2

Watch Dogs 2 and 007 First Light shares a ton of DNA when it comes to stealth gameplay and its infiltration-like mission design. Watch Dogs allows players to use the environment to their advantage in order to progress, such as hacking electronics, just like James Bond in 007 First Light. Watch Dogs 2 also focuses on intense shootout sequences, where the player must take down groups of enemies and use quick-thinking to use the surrounding environment to their advantage.

When infiltration is an option, there's no better alternative.

While 007 First Light is more expressive overall in its gameplay, having more creative options at your disposal, Watch Dogs 2 is still one of the closest experiences you're going to get to that overall feeling of being a spy, as you are constantly using modern gadgets to infiltrate various environments. Watch Dogs 2 is definitely not as cinematic as 007 First Light, but it does feature driving sections that are reminiscent to the driving sequences from James Bond's latest adventure.

1 Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

A Grand Adventure

Uncharted 4 A Thief's End

There's no denying that there have been a lot of comparisons between 007 First Light and Naughty Dog's Uncharted series. Gamers have even gone as far to say that 007 First Light is the closest to Uncharted 5 that we're going to get. While 007 First Light is similar to all Uncharted titles, it's the closest to Uncharted 4: A Thief's End when it comes to overall gameplay and feel. They both have cinematic action, cover-shooter elements, and a high-stakes story that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

If you enjoyed how 007 First Light's gameplay blended into scripted action sequences, dialogue, and character-driven moments, then Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is right up your alley. While Uncharted 4 doesn't have any fancy gadgets like the famous British spy, the gunplay is almost identical, and it's hard to tell the difference between the two. Additionally, Uncharted 4 takes the player to many beautiful locations and unique environments, just like 007 First Light.
