10 Survivors We Want Added Next in Dead By Daylight

1 hour ago 2

Dead By Daylight only continues to grow in popularity as more and more horror icons are added into the mix. Whether it's from a horror movie, game, book, or even someone brand new invented for the universe, there are several different IPs that are represented in the game, either as killers or survivors.

But, that doesn't mean that there can't be more.

10 Horror Games that Prove Murphy's Law

Everything that can go wrong, will go wrong, and these horror games prove it.

In fact, if you were to go through the list of survivors, you'd be surprised that some characters aren't in the lineup — whether it's due to oversight or copyright, they just aren't there. Even still, fans are going to continue to hope and pray for their favourites to make an appearance in video game's coolest fanfiction.

If any of these characters end up being added in a future update, you can expect people to go crazy and go stupid (in a fun way).

10 Ellie Williams or Joel Miller

The Last of Us is All About Surviving the Odds

cropped-Best Selling PlayStation Exclusives Of All Time The Last of Us

Given how immensely popular The Last of Us is (thanks to the HBO show), it's genuinely surprising that there isn't anyone (or even anything) pulled from the games into Dead by Daylight. It would be nice if there were some representation, either with Joel or Ellie (but preferably both).

Both Joel Miller and Ellie Williams are already used to utilising everything in their surroundings (including the environment itself) to stay alive, which is the perfect mentality for a Survivor. If they want to focus more on The Last of Us Part II, they could include Abby, but that's also inviting trolls, so that's truly up to developers.

If either Joel or Ellie are brought into the game, not only would it fit in to the overall vibe and world of Dead by Daylight, but it would introduce an entirely new fanbase to the game.

As far as potential Perks go, all kinds of things can work, but I just hope that there's something that involves bricks or bottles.

9 Mio Amakura

The Camera Obscura Can Just be a Gimmick

Fatal Frame Crimson Butterfly 2 Remake (6) Image Via Team Ninja

The Fatal Frame games were horror icons that started to slip into obscura (laugh at the joke), but when Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake dropped, it came right back into the spotlight as if it never left. Fatal Frame has already done collabs with other games, so Dead by Daylight would be another logical collab.

With that in mind, it would make sense for the collab to feature Mio Amakura as the Survivor, since she's the camera-wielding protagonist who already has the perfect displays of terror to be a good one.

The Camera Obscura could be either a Charm or a Perk, something creative would come from it either way. Obviously, you wouldn't be able to take pictures of the Killer ... unless?

8 Dana Scully & Fox Mulder

We Want to Believe

The X Files Dana Scully and Fox Mulder

While The X-Files isn't horror in the traditional sense, it's all things paranormal and unnatural, creating its own special sauce of dread. Given how Dead by Daylight also features horror-adjacent icons (such as Stranger Things and Castlevania), the X-Files would fit right in the lineup.

Naturally, the Survivors for this would be Dana Scully and Fox Mulder. This is a duo that cannot be separated and must always be a package set; I don't make the rules.

10 Horror Games that Respect Your Time

If you want to play a horror game that scares you while also respects you as a player, these are good options.

The duo had dealt with all kinds of (quite frankly, traumatic) oddities and occurrences, so being thrown into another dimension to fight for your life isn't anything crazier, right? Surely, Scully would believe something is out there after this kind of experience.

Also, it's hilarious to imagine the paperwork they're going to have to do after they're done.

7 Alexandria Rovias

Just Don't Start Tripping

Eternal Darkness Sanity's Requiem Alexandra Roivas

Hopefully, if I talk about Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem enough, it would be remade. Or in this case, add Alexandra Rovias to Dead by Daylight.

Alex has already shown herself capable of surviving all kinds of enemies and encounters (especially with all the time travel and dimension craziness that the game taps into), so she'd fit right in. Of course, it's not quite the same without a Sanity Meter, but that's assuming she somehow doesn't have one as her own character Perk or some other new gimmick.

As far as Killers on the flip side, the Legionnaire Pious Augustus immediately comes to mind, but this isn't about him. Alex had dealt with him before, and she'd easily do so again.

6 Isaac Clarke

An Engineer Would be Handy

bf2042-dead-space.jpg

Isaac Clarke had gone through hell and back in the Dead Space trilogy, so let's just bring him back into a new world of horrors. Whether or not a Necromorph also appears as a Killer is irrelevant; I just want to hear Isaac be absolutely done with everything around him while he's fighting with a busted generator.

With those generators in mind, it would be neat if Isaac had a Perk that utilized his engineering expertise, such as allowing him to instantly have a part to fix it or be faster than others during repairs. There are all kinds of ideas when it comes to an engineer kind of character, and his exact kind of done-but-will-fix-it-anyway attitude would make him a fun Survivor to play.

Or, they could just make him stomp on things really hard. It's fun to stomp things.

5 Another New Silent Hill Protagonist

I'd Prefer Either Hinako or Harry

Silent Hill f Hinako in White

Silent Hill actually does have some representation in Dead by Daylight, but only through Cheryl Mason (using Heather Mason's design) and Pyramid Head. There are some charms and a map, too, but that's literally it. And considering how, after the release of Silent Hill 2 Remake and Silent Hill f, the fandom is more alive than ever, it would be nice if more was added.

While it would make sense to pair Cheryl with her father (and I would absolutely love to see him), I would actually be more interested in seeing Shimizu Hinako. I mean, imagine one of her perks having to do with the Fox Arm.

Even if you reach for the moon and fail, you'll land amongst the stars in a better outcome. These horror games shot further, for the Andromeda galaxy.

Since Silent Hill f already has countless different charms, there are plenty of templates to choose from for something extra. It would blend in with Hinako perfectly — not only this, but Hinako would actually pair nicely with Cheryl, since she's already a parallel to Alessa (while Cheryl, obviously, is Alessa herself).

And imagine another new map, but for Ebisugaoka, and given how stunning the game is, it would be a gorgeous translation into Dead by Daylight as well.

4 Sam and Dean Winchester

Things are Already Pretty ... Supernatural

sam-and-dean-winchester-with-the-impala-supernatural.jpg

Given the insane popularity around Supernatural, even after it's been over for years, it's even more shocking that Sam and Dean Winchester aren't in the mix. They would be fun Survivors, and they're another duo that has to be in a pair at all times; Sam and Dean can't be introduced without each other.

Plus, they're Hunters, they're literally meant to be dealing with monsters, and there are all kinds of creatures and demons in human skin in this game. The Killers would be right alongside the Winchesters' rogues gallery, and besides, they've already canonically done some weird dimension-hopping (thanks to Loki), so this would just be another average Tuesday.

They're no strangers to crossing over with other IPs as well, since there was a genuine crossover with Supernatural and Scooby-Doo at one point (called Scoobynatural) — they even got Matthew Lillard to play Shaggy. So if they were to see a Killer they recognise from a movie or TV show, it would definitely be a fun fourth wall break.

Whether or not Castiel tags along is another debate, but they'd all better show up in their 1967 Chevrolet Impala.

3 Sidney Prescott

Why Not When Ghost Face is Already There?

Scream Sidney Prescott

Scream already has representation in Dead by Daylight, and that's through Ghost Face as a Killer. Yet, it doesn't feature the movie's own protagonist, who even defeated him: Sidney Prescott.

While yes, Scream as an IP is better known for Ghost Face than the actual protagonist, it just doesn't feel right that Sidney isn't there to stop him. I can already see her iconic phone as one of the new charms. She's The Final Girl, after all, and such an iconic horror trope deserves a spot as a Survivor.

Perks would definitely be trickier, but they would likely relate to Sidney's own intelligence and quick thinking. She didn't survive throughout her entire franchise with pure luck, after all.

Plus, her title as The Final Girl is already picked out for her, which is one less thing for devs to have to think about.

2 Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Especially With Vampires About

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Buffy: the Vampire Slayer had an absolute grip on Cult Classic culture as it was coming out, so imagine how much of a grip she would have again if she were brought to Dead by Daylight. Buffy: the Vampire Slayer is already doing well on streaming, but introducing a collab like this would definitely bring new viewers to the show.

And maybe, it would finally get producers to pick the reboot back up.

Look around and look carefully, you'll never know what's looking right back at you.

Buffy is used to slaying vampires, but she's used to getting out of sticky situations even more so. Her adaptability and fast acting serve as the foundation for a potential Perk — but there are also seven seasons of content to choose ideas for charms and other Perks. Developers could even bring in Angel if they don't want to introduce Buffy by herself.

But honestly, she needs no introduction.

1 Van Helsing

THE Monster Hunter Deserves the Spotlight

Van Helsing

There isn't a gothic horror fan in the world who doesn't know about Van Helsing — he is The Monster Hunter, more accurately, The Monster Slayer. Regardless of which version of him you prefer (the 2004 movie Van Helsing is my personal favourite), he is an icon all on his own, alongside the classic monsters he pursues.

In fact, Van Helsing is such a horror icon that he was my introduction to the genre, at the ripe age of five years old — and thus, an obsession was born. And considering how he's been known since the late 1800s (because, you know, Bram Stoker's Dracula), it's safe to assume he's been the introduction for many fans of horror or all things goth. He deserves to be highlighted as the legend he is.

The great thing about him is that he's incredibly flexible as a character, with many different interpretations and versions existing at once — which allows developers to design and structure him however they see fit. I just know that his Perks would make him a problem against those trying to kill him.

These Killers won't stand a chance against Van Helsing ... maybe that's why he's not in yet.
