Meccha Chameleon was released on June 10th, and since then, it has exploded in popularity. Of course, if the game is going to keep everyone's attention, the developer is going to want to make a few additions and changes.
10 Best Indie Games With Infinite Replayability
You won't see me for a week after Terraria updates.
Luckily, they have been on top of things, updating the game at a consistent pace. However, there is still more that could be done, and some quality of life changes that could be added in future updates.
Perhaps there should be more tools when painting, or maybe a means of rotating your character. There are plenty of changes that can be made, so let's break those down.
8 Boundary Reworks
To Prevent Flashing Red
The boundaries in Meccha Chameleon are okay, but they aren't the best. For instance, there are plenty of times on both custom and normal maps where you can be completely out in the open, but the game tells you that your character is too hidden.
While this doesn't happen all the time, it happens enough for many to recognize that the boundaries could use a bit of a rework. It would be nice to be able to set a limit on the boundaries to allow players to hide more in the environment. What is the point of trying to hide in the balloons on the mansion map if you stick out like a sore thumb?
A simple fix might be to allow boundary clipping, but a more in-depth fix would be for the developer to fine tune the boundaries on each map.
7 Additional Brushes
For More Paint Styles
Have you ever painted? Have you ever watched someone paint? If so, then you are probably aware that there is more than one type of brush, and each one is used for a different purpose.
Right now, Meccha Chameleon is a bit rudimentary with its brushes, only allowing players to change the size. However, no matter what the size of the brush is, it always acts the same.
It would be nice to see different brush tools to give various effects like a speckled look, as it would help the chameleons blend in a bit more and test a player's creativity.
Streamline Things
This isn't the biggest complaint, because since Meccha Chameleon has been released to the public, the game has received significant updates. However, the menu could still use a bit of a rework to make things a bit more streamlined.
Where it stands now, the menu is a bit clunky looking. Everything sticks out with giant boxes, the menu has a tendency to lag a bit, and it just isn't a great look.
Fixing up the UI a bit, giving it a more streamlined look, and fixing up the lag would go a long way to making Meccha Chameleon even better.

5 Remove Mics During Matches
It Gives You Away
Meccha Chameleon features an in-game mic option that I haven't seen anyone use. Most people play while on a Discord call with their friends, making you wonder why the in-game mic option even exists.
There isn't anything wrong with the in-game mic while you are in the lobby, but it quickly becomes pointless during a match because it features directional audio, leading the hunter directly to you.
Currently, the game has the option to turn the in-game mic on and off with the V key, but it would be nice to permanently turn it off in the menu. I can't tell you how many times people have accidentally turned that mic option on, giving away their position.
4 Hunter Paint Presets
Save Your Look
This is a complaint I have heard rather frequently from those who are hunting. So, when you are chosen to be the hunter, you stand around in the lobby room for a select amount of time while the chameleons hide.
During this time, the hunter is free to paint themselves however they choose. This often means they scribble some funny message on themselves or draw a silly face.
Many hunters have asked for presets, as this way they can create a default look that they enjoy, and select it, rather than paint themselves every time they are chosen to be the hunter.
3 Body Rotation
Rotate Your Pose
Another complaint I have heard quite frequently is that Meccha Chameleon could have better body rotation. As it stands, when you choose a pose, you are able to rotate yourself, but it isn't the greatest. It is a clunky system that shifts you at odd angles.
It would be nice if the developer upgraded this system a bit, allowing you to use your mouse to rotate your character on both the X and Y axis. This way, you can move yourself into the perfect position before you start painting.
This would go a long way to helping the hiding be more fluent for everyone.
2 Texture Tools
Match Your Surroundings
I mentioned before that it would be nice to have different brushes for different paint effects. Well, I have also seen many ask about additional texture effects.
Currently, the game has a slider that allows you to alter the texture of your paint from being matte to chrome. While this is nice, it would be amazing to have texture options to match the texture of different materials like couches, bricks, and more.
It is difficult to get the texture correct when painting, and the eyedropper tool does its best, but adding preset texture options would be amazing.
1 Undo Button
And Maybe a Redo
The biggest complaint I have heard about the painting mechanics in Meccha Chameleon is that it desperately needs an undo/redo option. Far too many times, I have heard my fellow chameleons say that they made a mistake and want to undo it.
This is something that has angered some as well, because once you accidentally make that extra paint mark, you need to switch to another color, and hopefully fix it. An undo button would allow you to just erase that mistake entirely.
Along with that, adding a redo button makes sense if you decide that you would rather keep that happy little accident.
