Murillo Zerbinatto is a contributor from Brazil. He's a JRPG enthusiast who has been around the world of games and content creation for more than six years now. He has a particular love for Final Fantasy and has absorbed all the content this long-running series offers, including its obscure spinoffs such as Dimension I & II, Explorers, and My Life as a King. While playing JRPGs is already a time-sinking endeavor, Murillo doubles down by being a platinum hunter as well.

The Brazilian Game Developers Association, known as Abragames, has announced its participation in Gamescom Latam 2026, focusing on showcasing Brazilian games and initiatives to position the country as a global hub for game development, both internally and as an international partner. This partnership is supported by Brazil Games and ApexBrasil, the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency.

Those attending Gamescom Latam 2026 will be able to play 36 Brazilian games at booths scattered throughout the event, with 14 from Abragames member studios and 22 from an Accelerator program. While every game showcases Brazil's unique blend of local culture and globally appreciated gameplay, a few titles stand out.

Among these are Starlit World, from Rockhead Studios, an action-adventure game focused on exploration to restore the world, as well as Kakele Online, a 2D MMORPG for both mobile and PC that has been active since 2020. One game in my spotlight is EDEN'S FRONTIER, an upcoming pixel art action RPG that even features a comic expanding its universe. These are just a few of the many games that all attendees of Gamescom Latam 2026 can experience.

Abragames Wants to Connect Brazilian Studios With International Publishers

We all know that nowadays, the games industry is more hectic than ever, and it's very easy for your game to get lost in the middle of this red ocean. Abragames' project aims to transform and foster the Brazil's local industry into a long-term ecosystem of respect and increase its presence in the global market, as Rodrigo Terra, president of Abragames, says:

"Brazil is entering a defining phase in its emergence as a global game development hub. Our presence at Gamescom Latam 2026 goes beyond showcasing standout titles—it underscores the strength of a coordinated national ecosystem. Through our initiatives with Brazil Games, we are enabling Brazilian studios to forge meaningful connections, scale their ambitions, and compete more effectively on the international stage."

With this in mind, Abragames is sparing no effort and features several key activations to help Brazilian studios connect with international publishers, investors, and partners, whether through networking, pitch sessions, or even professionalizing developers.

The gaming industry has lost one of its greatest talents.

The Brazil Games Business Speed Meeting, for example, allows Brazilian studios to participate in networking rounds with international investors, showcase their portfolio, and gather immediate feedback and business opportunities. In the same lane, we have the Abragames Pitch Arena 2026, a competitive pitching session that offers finalists international exposure and access to international events in 2027.

Through our initiatives with Brazil Games, we are enabling Brazilian studios to forge meaningful connections, scale their ambitions, and compete more effectively on the international stage.

To ensure that each Brazilian studio meets the expectations of global investors, Abragames also offers the XDev Executive Bootcamp, which includes mentoring, workshops, and one-on-one meetings to professionalize developers. The mentoring includes experts such as Dalma Bolech (LevelUp XDev), Donald Harris (FarBridge), Jason RM Smith (Game Caviar), and Shiew Yeu Loh (Forge Bridges). Finally, we have the Abragames Industry Track Talks, which, as the name implies, are panels with lectures on market evolution, publishing, co-development, and even Steam performance.

All visitors to Gamescom Latam 2026 can see for themselves whether Abragames' investment is bearing fruit by visiting the Association's booth and testing the Brazilian games on display. As a Brazilian, I hope the local industry continues to grow and shows the world that Brazilian creativity is no small thing and that we have a lot to offer.
