Adventure Time Bubblegum and Marceline gets series order at HBO Max

The fan-favorite Adventure Time couple will headline a new HBO Max spinoff

Bubbline fans rejoice: Princess Bubblegum and Marceline the Vampire Queen are finally getting a show of their own.

Warner Bros. Discovery announced Wednesday at the Annecy Animation Festival that HBO Max has ordered Adventure Time: Bubblegum and Marceline, a new 10-episode animated series centered on one of the franchise's most beloved couples.

According to the official logline, the series will follow Bubblegum and Marceline as they "journey across the farthest reaches of Ooo, encountering familiar faces and new dangers."

The series will be led by Emmy-winning Adventure Time veteran Adam Muto, who returns as showrunner and executive producer after previously overseeing Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake and Adventure Time: Distant Lands.

Bubblegum and Marceline, affectionately known as "Bubbline" by fans, became one of animation's most celebrated couples after their relationship was made canon in the 2018 finale of the original Adventure Time series.

No release date has been announced.
