Paranormasight: The Mermaid’s Curse is probably Square Enix’s most complex and compelling game of 2026. A sequel to Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo (2023), this title presents a new history about a mystery that the player must solve.
It has you following a handful of different characters as they deal with an 800-year-old curse, which involves a whole bunch of murders and paranormal events, in a non-linear experience – so, yes, if you don’t pay full attention to everything, you might miss some information or detail here and there.

Paranormasight: The Mermaid’s Curse Review
A 4th-wall-breaking game that is perfect for fans who love mystery
And one of these details is the Mocking Bird stickers, which basically function as a collectible that can grant you some nice rewards, just like the first game! They are quite lighthearted too, I must add, since they are colorful stickers of birds. You can find them hidden in plain sight in almost every scenario scattered throughout the game, but some can get pretty tricky to spot.
That’s why we put together a full guide on how to find every Mocking Bird in Paranormasight: The Mermaid’s Curse, so you don’t lose any part of this incredible visual novel.
Where to Find All Mocking Bird Collectibles
There are 20 Mocking Birds in total, classified numerically from #1 to #20. However, they are scattered throughout the chapters in a non-chronological way – just like the story.
So, in order to make your journey easier, we have listed them in the order they are unlocked via the Story Chart, rather than by their numerical ID. This allows you to follow the guide naturally as you progress through the story without fear of spoilers.
Mocking Bird #18, #06, #12, and #19
Chapter: Tomokazuki (Yuza Minakuchi)
The very first chapter of the game contains a staggering five stickers. Four of them are found underwater during the Underwater Gathering minigame:
- Mocking Bird #18 - Seagull: As soon as the minigame starts, move to the left of the hole where bubbles are rising. Look for the yellow question mark to collect it.
- Mocking Bird #06 - Black-tailed Gull: At the start of the minigame, look left to find the tallest rock wall. Swim toward the top, moving forward slowly until the yellow question mark appears.
- Mocking Bird #12 - Brown Booby: From the start, head to the right area (avoiding the bubble hole). Scan the seafloor until you spot the yellow question mark.
- Mocking Bird #19 - Great Frigatebird: Look in the opposite direction of your starting point to find some solitary seaweed. Head that way and keep an eye out for the yellow prompt.
Mocking Bird #08 - Long-tailed Tit
Chapter: Tomokazuki (Yuza Minakuchi)
The final sticker in the Tomokazuki chapter is found right after the Underwater Gathering minigame ends. When Yuza returns to the boat to talk to Azami, look behind you inside the boat before starting the conversation to find the Mocking Bird #08.
Mocking Bird #02 - Little Tern
Chapter: Futamigaura Investigation (Yumeko Shiki)
As soon as the Futamigaura Investigation chapter begins, look at the ground toward the path leading to the beach (to the left of Sodo). The Mocking Bird #02 is tucked away in the shadows.
Mocking Bird #13 - Mandarin Duck: Male
Chapter: Unidentified Skeletons (Yumeko Shiki)
After Sodo returns from talking to the locals about the underwater bones and the mysterious woman at the beginning of the Unidentified Skeletons chapter, look in the bottom-left corner of Sodo’s feet on the ground for the Mocking Bird #13 sticker.
Mocking Bird #09 - Black Kite
Chapter: Ise-Shima Investigation (Yumeko Shiki)
After the initial conversation between Yumeko Shiki and Yoshiatsu Yamashina at his residence, look to his left at one of the rocks in the lake for the Mocking Bird #09.
Mocking Bird #05 - Short-tailed Albatross
Chapter: Cursed (Yuza Minakuchi)
When choosing a location on the map at the beginning of the Cursed chapter, go to Jetty to find Kikuko at the beach. Talk to her first about Boxes, then about Working as an ama diver.
Keep going on the same option until she challenges you to reach 2,000 points in the Underwater Gathering minigame. If you have already done this, you will receive the Mocking Bird #05. If not, go back to the Tomokazuki chapter, achieve this score, and talk to Kikuko again to receive the sticker as a reward.

Chapter: Sacrifice (Sato Shiranami)
Right at the start of the chapter Sacrifice, when Wakamura mentions wanting to talk, look behind you at the bottom of the shoji (the Japanese sliding door) to collect the Mocking Bird #10.
Mocking Bird #14 - Mandarin Duck: Female
Chapter: Confession (Sato Shiranami)
Once you arrive at Chuo Street and meet Shotaro in the Confession chapter, the game allows you to scan the area before the dialogue begins. Look behind you and up toward the top of the building to spot the Mocking Bird #14.
Mocking Bird #16 - Fairy Penguin
Chapter: Discovering the Mermaids of Ise Bay (Arnav Barnum)
After the conversation with Circe about the Heike, head to "Ano Town" on the map. As soon as you can move the camera, look behind you for a lamp post; the Mocking Bird #16 sticker is at the very top.
Mocking Bird #11 - Hill Myna
Chapter: Vision of the Future (Yuza Minakuchi)
When Yuza and Azami meet Kikuko at the start of the Vision of the Future chapter, look at the far left corner of her boat for a sticker, the Mocking Bird #11. It is very small and easy to miss!
Mocking Bird #07 - Blue-and-white Flycatcher
Chapter: Onoura Bridge Investigation (Yumeko Shiki)
Before talking to Sodo at the beginning of the Onoura Bridge Investigation chapter, look behind you and all the way up to the very top of the bridge structure to collect the Mocking Bird #07.
Mocking Bird #03 - Grey Heron
Chapter: Treasure Hunt - Part 1 (Arnav Barnum)
This is probably the most well-hidden sticker in the game because, unlike the others, it requires you to interact with a specific object multiple times to make it appear!
Located in the Treasure Hunt - Part 1 chapter, the sticker is hidden behind a Kameshima poster. Right at the beginning, click on the poster three times (Avi will even comment on having a strange urge to check behind it) until the Mocking Bird #03 is finally revealed.
Mocking Bird #15 - Wild Turkey
Chapter: Obsession (Yumeko Shiki)
After the initial group conversation finishes in the Obsession chapter, look at the base of the pole directly to the left of Sodo, where the Mocking Bird #15 is hidden.
Mocking Bird #20 - Grey-faced Buzzard
Chapter: Point of Contact (Sato Shiranami)
In the alley at Town Clock in the short Point of Contact chapter, as soon as you gain control of the camera as Sato, look right and all the way up the wall to find the Mocking Bird #20.
Mocking Bird #04 - Cockatiel
Chapter: Claim (Sato Shiranami)
Once inside the Minakuchi Residence at the Claim chapter, look to the upper left, just above the sliding door frame, is the Mocking Bird #04.
Mocking Bird #02 - Little Tern
Chapter: Resurrection (Arnav Barnum)
When you arrive at the shrine with Circe in the Resurrection chapter, look at the stone lantern on the far right of the screen. The Mocking Bird #02 sticker is stuck to the side of the base.
Mocking Bird #01 - Java Sparrow
Chapter: To the Sanctuary (Yuza Minakuchi)
In this late-game chapter, once Yuza dives to find the sanctuary entrance and reaches the bottom, turn on the light. Now, look at the tall rocks on the right, almost to the ceiling (don’t move or do anything, just immediately start looking for it) for the Mocking Bird #01. Even Yuza will comment on his surprise at finding one here!
Mocking Bird #17 - Toco Toucan
Chapter: We Need a Plan (Yuza Minakuchi)
When you are outside the Kantekisho Ruins overlooking the mountains in the We Need a Plan chapter (one of the last chapters in the game), slowly turn the camera left. The Mocking Bird #17 sticker is on the low stone wall at the bottom of the screen.
Alll Rewards for Finding the Mocking Birds
There are only two rewards for finding the Mocking Birds: the first is unlocked after finding five stickers, and the second is granted only after collecting all twenty.
Be warned, however, that if you were expecting some kind of powerful item as a reward, that isn't the case here! However, you are graced with a funny extra scene that will warm any Hatoful Boyfriend fan's heart. Here are the rewards:
- 5 Mocking Birds: Unlocks access to the Mocking Bird Relationship Chart from the Story Chart screen.
- 20 Mocking Birds: Unlocks the Mocking Bird Theater, which is basically an extra, goofy scene with all the stickers.
