To say that 2025's Atomfall was a delightful surprise is an understatement.

In our review, we noted how the new IP was a much-needed breath of fresh air compared to the seemingly endless remakes and remasters that are released these days. We concluded as well by saying how it truly stands out in the crowded gaming landscape, making it a must-play for any fan of open-world games.

Atomfall deserves heaps of praise for going against the grain and presenting an open-world format that bucks almost every established trend. But even more so for doing this with aplomb and crafting an immersive, engaging, and breathtaking world.

Atomfall was "immediately profitable" for Rebellon.

One of the biggest things that stood out to me, aside from its immersive and curious world, was how unapologetically British it was. Atomfall proudly wears its inspiration on its sleeve, and it left me wanting to experience more.

Well, there's some good news on that front. We're getting more Atomfall, but not in the shape of a sequel or more DLC. Instead, it's being adapted into a television series by Two Brothers Pictures.

The Atomfall Television Series Is Being Developed By The Team Behind Fleabag

One of the things I always look for when we hear news of a video game adaptation, whether it's a television series or a movie, is the team behind it. Not only do I want to make sure they trust the source material, but also that they're familiar with it.

Take the Fallout series, for example. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy's resumes speak for themselves, and Todd Howard was on hand to help ensure the series is accurate with everything we know and love about the game.

When it comes to Atomfall, it's looking like we're once again in good hands. First, there's the background of Harry and Jack Williams, who are serving as writers and Executive Producers for the show. Not only are they the team behind the highly successful British comedy Fleabag, but they're also quite familiar with Atomfall.

Street Fighter's movie reboot is making the right casting choice while embracing its video game roots.

"Harry and Jack demonstrated a clear love for Atomfall and talked about their own particular endings when they were playing the game," said Jason Kingsley CBE, the CEO and Creative Director of Rebellion Developments, developer for Atomfall. "It is always exciting to work with people who share the same passion for creating and telling great stories and we are sure that this partnership will help to deliver a television series that will delight fans of the game and beyond.”

The British tone is something that Harry and Jack Williams not only love in Atomfall but also want to keep intact.

Atomfall has such a distinctive British tone and setting, and it’s been a real joy developing it alongside the Rebellion team - especially as two brothers working alongside two brothers (Jason Kingsley CBE and Chris Kingsley CBE - co-founders of Rebellion). There’s something very exciting about expanding this strange, unsettling story for television.

Based on the runaway success of the Fallout series on Prime Video, if the upcoming Atomfall adaptation stays true to its source material, we could have another hit series on our hands. No word yet on whether there will be another iconic priest in this series, either.
