Unconfirmed rumors circulating on social media suggest Arcade1Up could shut down this week. GameSpot reached out to Arcade1Up for comment on December 11, and we will update this story once we learn more. If these rumors are true, Arcade1Up cabinets will sadly begin to disappear from major retailers. Retailers have already been dealing with shortages on Arcade1Up products in 2025, so stock and options were limited before this news.
At the time of writing, Amazon has eight Arcade1Up Deluxe Cabinets, two Countercades, one Head-to-Head Table, and three Classic Special Edition Cabinets. This story touches on everything in the Arcade1Up catalog available from Amazon, but the focus is on the budget-friendly models that we would expect to sell out first if Arcade1Up is shutting down.
Arcade1Up returned to its roots this fall with a trio of standing cabinets referred to as Classic Special Editions: Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, and Mortal Kombat II. Priced at $334 at Amazon and Walmart, all three models have 13 preloaded games are available to ship now and will arrive before Christmas. The arcade sticks, buttons, dual speakers, and overall build quality aligns with Arcade1Up's pricier options. Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man have online leaderboards, and Mortal Kombat has online multiplayer--but if Arcade1Up shuts down, the online features may no longer be available.
Arcade1Up Classic Special Edition Arcade CabinetsArcade1Up Classic Special Editions:
- Mortal Kombat II (13 Games) -- $334
- Ms. Pac-Man (13 Games) -- $334
- Pac-Man (13 Games) -- $334
- Arcade1UP Riser -- $60
There are a few reasons why these are cheaper than other Arcade1Up standing cabinets. The Classic Special Editions are just under 4-feet tall, whereas Deluxe models are 5 feet. The good news is you can get a universal Arcade1Up Riser for $60 that raises the height to 5 feet. If you don't get the Riser, you will likely want an adjustable barstool--unless the cabinet is for kids, in which case the original height will likely be a better fit. These machines have 15.6-inch displays and regular marquees, whereas Deluxe Editions include larger, 17-inch screens and light-up marquees. Instead of a faux coin door, there's a front panel with game logos.
Check out the full game lists for all three Classic Special Edition machines below. We've also included a list of in-stock Deluxe Editions as well as the Pac-Man and Class of '81 Countercades. The latter is themed around Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga and is on sale for $130 (was $150).
Arcade1Up Classic SE: Mortal Kombat II Arcade Machine

You can see if you still remember how to do fatalities in games like the original Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2, Mortal Kombat 3, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. For the design, the cabinet is Mortal Kombat 2-themed and it includes several symbols from the fighting franchise across its surface. Arcade1Up Riser
$60
The official Arcade1Up Riser adds an extra 14.25 inches to the Special Edition cabinets. It also adds some heft to the overall build, which is a nice perk. Out of the box, the Special Editions weight 36-38 pounds each, and the Riser weighs 17 pounds. Even with the Riser attached, these cabinets are still 10-15 pounds lighter than their Deluxe counterparts, but they still feel solid and secure.
Arcade1Up Countercades
Arcade1Up Countercades- Ms. Pac-Man / Galaga Countercade (3 Games) -- $130 ($150)
- Pac-Man Countercade (3 Games) -- $150
The Classic Special Editions are the cheapest standing cabinets in Arcade1Up's catalog, but they aren't the cheapest machines overall. As mentioned, Amazon has a pair of Arcade1Up countertop arcade machines in stock right now. The Class of '81 Countercade is themed around Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga. It has a 7-inch, vertically oriented LCD screen, full-size controls, and can be powered via Micro-USB or four AA batteries (not included). In addition to Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga, Class of '81 includes Dig Dug. It's on sale for $130 (was $150).
The Pac-Man Countercade is also in stock, but it's no longer on sale for $130. It has the same technical specifications as Class of '81 and includes three preloaded games: Pac-Man, Super Pac-Man, and Pac-Mania.
