It was a busy time at Marvel’s much-anticipated Hall H panel during San Diego Comic Con 2026. The company revealed not just more footage of Avengers: Doomsday, but also new movies, release dates, and casting decisions. Here’s everything that happened during the July 25 news event.
The Deadpool and Wolverine director is making a Ghost Rider movie
MarvelShawn Levy is leading the 2028 standalone movie. His last superhero movie grossed $1.3 million at the box office. Can he turn a Marvel B-lister into another crowd-pleasing blockbuster? Probably.
It stars Ryan Gosling as Ghost Rider

Hot off his success in Project Hail Mary and ahead of next year’s Star Wars: Starfighter (also led by Levy), Gosling is joining the MCU as the motorcycle stuntman who sold his soul and now hunts demons. We’ve officially entered the Gosling renaissance where fans are wondering if there’s any role he shouldn’t be considered for, including Indiana Jones.
Black Panther 3 is also coming in 2028
Ryan Coogler introduces the new #BlackPanther, David Jonsson.

And Marvel isn’t recasting T’Challa. Instead of replacing Chadwick Boseman for the role, the new Black Panther movie will focus on T’Challa’s son who will be played by The Long Walk‘s David Jonsson. Denzel Washington had previously said that Ryan Coogler was writing a role for him in Black Panther 3, out December 15, 2018, but there was no confirmation of that at the panel.
A new Avengers: Doomsday trailer focuses on his backstory

The trailer, which hasn’t been released publicly, has Sue Storm narrating the villain’s backstory as the camera cuts between various Marvel heroes. In a confrontation with Doom, Reed Richards asks “Did you do this?” When Thor tries to strike Doom, he blocks it and responds in a very weird Robert Downey, Jr. accent, “I swear you will beg for hell long before I grant it.” The footage ends with him resurrecting fallen Sentinel robots from the earth.
Ryan Reynolds showed up as Deadpool

The Mint Mobile CEO appeared in the crowd in full costume to ask the panel if there was still a chance his character could be added in re-shoots. The crowd ate it up, but it remains to be seen if he’ll have a real role in Avengers: Doomsday or just a fun cameo as a brief gag.
Spider-Man and the Punisher team-up against Hulk
SonyNew exclusive footage from Spider-Man: Brand New Day showed Tom Holland and Jon Bernthal reunited from their time in The Odyssey to try to get an inhibitor back on the Hulk. We’ve been getting a lot of Hulk fights recently, thought I suspect they’ll mostly be played for lighthearted laughs in the actual movie rather than being a pivotal part of the plot.
A Nova movie is coming
MarvelKevin Feige appeared to low-key confirm this while giving an interview out on the show floor. “Not a damn thing, but it’s a movie,” he said when asked by Brandon Davis about the recent rumors. Deadline reported a Nova Corps movie was in development, though it was conspicuously absent from Marvel’s official panels.
