The newest ARC Raiders update, Riven Tides, has brought the spray of sea salt to our shores and blessed us with a whole new map. Of course, with new maps come new quests, and Battening Down is one of the first that you’ll encounter.

ARC Raiders: A Rising Tide Quest Guide

New secrets of The Dam lay hidden deep within!

The sea walls have cracked, and the Hurricanes have ripped this once beautiful shoreline to pieces. It’s up to you to get out there, document the damage, and get some repairs done. Let’s get on with it!

Prerequisites

This quest is completely combat-free, so if you just want to explore the new map without much hassle, you can always head on in with a free loadout. Just note that if you proceed like this, you won’t have as much time as those who bring a custom loadout.

I would always recommend going in with something small, like an Anvil, just in case you run into any trouble. The entire Riven Tides map is swarming with ARC, and due to the fact that you won’t always have cover in locations like the beachfront, there’s a pretty high likelihood that you’ll be targeted by some wasps or comets.

Battening Down Quest Walkthrough

Samples by the Sea

The majority of this quest takes place on the northern horizontal strip of the map down by the beach, so I would recommend you start on the Western edge by the hotel and work your way Eastwards, or vice versa. The objectives can be completed in any order, so start on whichever side you’re closest to.

ARC Raiders: Worth Your Salt Quest Guide

First come, first served. No time to lose Raider!

First off, you’ll need to get a sample from the shoreline of the beach. This can be found directly in front of the Hotel Complex, just in front of the Azzurro Beach Tag on the map. Head over to the large patches of Seaweed and grab a sample.

The Cracks Begin to Show

Next up, head eastwards across the beach. Now you’ll need to find some cracks that have formed in the huge rib-like Wavebreaker that sprawls across the beachfront.

Head over to one of the individual ribs that point north. These can be found directly northeast of the Port Authority Building and north of the Stacking Yard. On the tips of the Wavebreaker, where it points towards the ocean, you should notice some cracks spreading across the concrete. Once you’ve found one, take a photo, and proceed to the next objective.

Oil Spill

Finally, you’ll want to head all the way to the far northeast of the map, in the final section of the Wavebreaker. Here you’ll notice pools of oil spreading from the pipeline that head out to the ocean.

Approach the rainbow-coloured pools and interact with the pipes protruding from the sand to repair the leak. Once you’ve sealed the pipes shut, you can return to the closest extraction point and head back to Speranza.

Rewards

For completing this quest, Apollo will reward you with the following items:

1x Riven Tides Hotel Keycard No. 107
3x Smoke Grenade Trap

You can take the Keycard to the Hotel and head to the first floor to find room 107. In this room, you’ll find a bunch of lootable containers as well as a gun cache! I found multiple guns lying around this room, as well as a Bobcat inside the cache. Not bad at all!
