The second half of the final season of animation studio Orange's acclaimed anime Beastars is finally approaching, and after three seasons, the series is scheduled to debut this March. Orange took to social media to declare that the story was coming to an end and to reflect on how long the journey had taken.

"Production began in 2017, the series premiered in 2019, and across four cours, supported by countless creators, artists, and above all, the fans, we are finally able to tell Legoshi and his friends’ story to its very end," Orange posted on X. "For Orange, this has been our longest challenge. The techniques and expressions we cultivated here have been carried into other works, and in turn, what we gained from those works has been brought back into Beastars. And now, at last— streaming worldwide from March 7. Thank you for your continued support."

Based on Paru Itagaki’s acclaimed manga, Beastars is a coming-of-age drama set in a society divided between anthropomorphic carnivores and herbivores, where instinct and civility are in constant tension. The series follows Legoshi, a gentle gray wolf whose life is upended after a carnivore murders a classmate, igniting fear and prejudice across campus. His growing feelings for Haru, a white rabbit he initially lunges at in a predatory impulse, force him to confront whether his desires stem from love or instinct.

In the final season, the story moves beyond Cherryton Academy as Legoshi strikes out on his own after his fight with Riz. Meanwhile, Louis confronts his legacy and his father, Ogma, while Haru steps into adulthood on her own terms. At the same time, as Beastar Yahya tracks the ruthless hybrid criminal Melon, Legoshi is pulled into the manhunt by a buried family secret that ties him directly to the killer.

Part 2 kicks off as Zebuth City’s so-called peace falls apart thanks to Melon’s behind-the-scenes chaos. Tensions between herbivores and carnivores hit a breaking point, and Haru ends up squarely in Melon’s crosshairs. Legoshi sinks deeper into the Black Market, while Louis deals with messy new responsibilities topside. When they reunite, they’re both headed toward the same unavoidable clash: taking Melon down. In a world fueled by fear and desire, the big question is what kind of answer they’ll actually find when it’s all over.
