Bellwright’s Biggest Update Yet Adds An Expansive New Map To The Game

More than 18 months on from Bellwright’s Early Access release, Donkey Crew’s hit survival RPG is about to get its biggest update yet. One that not only adds new details to its existing map, but an update that introduces a whole new area to the game once you’re done questing in Karvenia.

Set Sail For Halmare Isles

The biggest addition to Bellwright via its hefty new “Maiden Voyage” update is the Halmare Isles, an entirely new map waiting to be explored. To get there, you’ll need to complete all of the main quests in Karvenia and then build a dock. Once that’s completed, an exciting new adventure awaits!

There’s more than just new land to explore, too. Your trip to Halmare Isles will continue the Bellwright story. Embark on new missions, complete more quests, and discover unique new loot. The continuation of Bellwright’s story via its biggest update yet will offer up multiple progression lines, meaning the new adventure you embark on will feel truly unique. Plus, if you don’t like how things are panning out, track back and make sure your journey pans out differently.

The introduction of Halmare Isles has been paired with a loyalty system tied to Bellwright’s new factions. Three factions now call Bellwright home, and it’s up to you to decide which one you side with. Play the field and try to keep everyone relatively happy, or pledge your allegiance to one and turn your back on the others. There's new armor tied to each faction, allowing you to flaunt the colors of whoever you’re loyal to.

On top of three factions to choose from and matching armor, players on Halmare Isles will also be able to construct new buildings - including bridges and a shipyard that let you fast travel between maps - and encounter all sorts of new animals that can’t be found back home in Karvenia.

Karvenia Is Getting Some Big Changes, Too

If you’re new to Bellwright, worried that its biggest update yet doesn’t have anything for you, don’t panic, the beginning areas of Karvenia are getting some big changes, too. For starters, some of those new animals will be popping up on the game’s OG map, including foxes and bears.

The update will also introduce trade and caravans, a new gameplay mechanic that turns transfers into journeys between your outposts. You’ll also be able to build walls around your camps for extra protection, the game’s character creator has been overhauled to include more customization options, and all players can now benefit from full controller support.
