In Pragmata, there are various ways to enhance your character. These include your Hacking Mode Chip, a myriad of weapons, and Hacking Nodes. Each of these are designed to expand the capabilities of Hugh and Diana.

The best means of upgrading your abilities is by installing mods, and not the kind that mess with the game's files. Instead, these mods are installed in Diana or in Hugh's suit to increase their combat capabilities, making them stronger than ever.

With 40 different mods to choose from in Pragmata, it can be difficult to know which ones are the best of the best. Let's break down which ones stand above the rest, and where you can find them.

10 Extended Breach

More Time to Shoot

Pragmata Extended Breach
  • Location: Shopping District section of the Mass Production Array.

Whenever you hack an enemy, they become OPEN for a brief period of time. This is what allows Hugh to damage them with his weapons. When an enemy closes its armor, it takes significantly less damage.

The Extended Breach Mod makes it so enemies stay OPEN for 15% longer, keeping them exposed, and allowing them to take increased damage for a longer time.

Luckily, you can find this mod fairly early in the game. To get it, head to the Shopping District section of the Mass Production Array. Go to the hallway with lasers that leads to a blue chest. Just before the end, take the route to the left to find this mod.

9 Relay Amplifier

Longer Hacking Range

Pragmata Relay Amplifier
  • Location: Side Alley section of the Mass Production Array

You need to rely on Diana to do more than say cute things all day. This means you need to rely on her to hack enemies. Unfortunately, the hacking range is not amazing in Pragmata.

That is where the Relay Amplifier Mod comes in. It increases Diana's hacking range by 30%. That is a massive increase that you can definitely see during combat, and it will help give you more time to react to attacks. This ultimately means that you should be getting hit less.

This mod can be found in the Side Alley section of the Mass Production Array. As you make your way through the alley, stick to the right, and you will find the chest with mod along a chain-link fence.

8 Heat Transfer

Overheated

Pragmata Heat Transfer
  • Location: Regolith Lab section of the Central Port

When you fill up a bot's gauge, it becomes overheated. During this time, it is stunned, OPEN, and able to be damaged freely without worrying about it retaliating. You can also use the opportunity to perform a strong attack by getting in close.

The Heat Transfer Mod makes it so enemy heat gauges fill 10% faster. This is great for downing enemies more quickly, but it works amazingly well with the Combust Mode Chip, as this adds combustion nodes to your hacks, further increasing how fast you can overheat an enemy.

This mod is located in the Regolith Lab section of the Central Port. Go to the Research Sector Lobby, go to the stairs, and head left. From here, deactivate the laser wall, and you should find the mod sitting on a table.

7 Quick Fix

Faster Repairs

Pragmata Quick Fix
  • Location: Cabin's Stamp Club

Mixed into the combat of Pragmata is a means of healing yourself. Periodically, you will find cartridges around the map that will give you more healing. You will also be able to upgrade your Repair Cartridges via the computer in the shelter.

Unfortunately, the healing in Pragmata is pretty slow. You need to stand around for a moment before the healing will come into effect, leaving space for enemies to attack you, interrupting your healing.

The Quick Fix mod is one of the many that you need to fill out Cabin's Stamp Boards to collect. For this, you will need to gather Cabin Coins and spend them on the appropriate board to unlock the mod.

6 Reinforced Casing

More Defense After Healing

Pragmata Reinforced Casing
  • Location: Cabin's Stamp Club

If you are not well-tuned into the combat of Pragmata, you will find yourself getting hit fairly often, and while this isn't a big deal now and then, it is when you get hit a lot. That is where the Reinforced Casing Mod comes in.

This mod reduces the damage you receive by 20% for 20 seconds after you use a Repair Cartridge. Since using a Repair Cartridge slows you down, you are more likely to get hit when using it. This will help negate some of the damage for a short while after using the cartridge, and it will help you get used to the combat more.

Similar to the Quick Fix Mod, you will need to collect Cabin Coins to obtain the Reinforced Casing Mod. This is because it is obtained through Cabin's Stamp Club.

5 Sympathetic Hacking

A Much-Needed Reload

Pragmata Sympathetic Hacking
  • Location: At the end of the "Armor Break" Unknown Signal challenge.

Needing to reload your weapons can be a bit of a hassle in Pragmata. Each weapon has a reload time, and your primary weapon has a longer reload time if you run the ammo dry.

This can be a bit annoying to manage, but it is made infinitely better by using the Sympathetic Hacking Mod. This mod makes it so that your primary unit is automatically reloaded any time you complete a successful hack.

This is great because you can hack and shoot at the same time, essentially never running out of ammo. Unfortunately, you cannot get this mod until you beat the game and unlock the chest in the Armor Break Unknown Signal Challenge in the hidden chamber.

4 Collateral Damage

Spread the Damage

Pragmata Collateral Damage
  • Location: Found in the chest in the Red Zone in the Eco Modeling Lab section of the Terra Dome.

We have already touched on the benefit of being able to overheat enemies. It causes them to go down, allowing you to perform a critical shot, dealing a lot of damage at one time. What if this damage could spread to nearby enemies?

That is exactly what the Collateral Damage Mod does. It makes it so the damage from critical shots spreads to nearby enemies. Well, 30% of the damage will be spread to nearby enemies, but that is still a lot, especially if you can down enemies quickly using the Combust Mode and Heat Transfer Mod.

Getting this mod can be a little tough, as you will need to complete the Red Zone in the Eco Modeling Lab in the Terra Dome to get it. Red Zones are extra challenging, so be sure to come prepared.

3 Better Lucky

Damage Negation

Pragmata Better Lucky
  • Location: Complete the Jump, Jump, Jump mission in the hidden chamber.

Let's face it, there are times in Pragmata where you have to deal with too many enemies at once. With there often being various types of enemies attacking you, it can be difficult to keep track of them all. Luckily, there is a way to negate damage.

The Better Lucky Mod gives you a chance to completely nullify the damage received from an attack. This effect drops with each successful use, and resets after you get hit. The chance of damage nullification is pretty substantial, and it can be a real lifesaver.

Unfortunately, this mod is another that you cannot obtain until you have beaten the game, with it being found in the chest at the end of the Jump, Jump, Jump challenge room in the hidden chamber.

2 Slowdown

Time Stands Still

Pragmata Slowdown
  • Location: Complete the Round-Up challenge in the hidden chamber.

Do you ever wish that time would just stand still during combat? It would certainly make things a bit less chaotic at times, and give us more time to think. Well, the Slowdown Mod does exactly that.

This mod slows down time while you are hacking a locked-on target. Of course, this ability isn't free, as it consumes the hacking gauge while in use, but that is a small price to pay for more time to think while hacking an enemy.

This is yet another mod you won't be able to get your hands on until you have beaten the game, with it being found at the end of the Round-Up challenge in the hidden chamber.

1 Hyperfocus

Continue Hacking

Pragmata Hyperfocus
  • Location: Cabin's Stamp Club

One of the biggest issues we have with the combat in Pragmata is that all your hacking work goes out the window the second you get hit. This completely resets your progress on a hack, making it so you have to start completely over.

The Hyperfocus Mod removes this problem entirely, making it so you don't lose your progress on a hack whenever you get hit. You will never have to restart a hack during combat ever again, which is such a nice feature that we are surprised it wasn't like that to begin with. Then again, it's probably best that you have to work for it.

This is another mod that is obtained via Cabin's Stamp Club. This means that you will need to get enough Cabin Coins during the game to fill out the stamp cards and get this mod.
