This allowed him to quickly pursue a position as an Editor during his former tenure, managing different teams and their content delivery whilst continuing to provide further expertise from his own written work.

He specializes in a variety of AAA and multiplayer titles; from spending countless hours with Sam and BB in Death Stranding to plowing through the latest raid boss with his clan mates in Destiny 2, there's a lot for him to enjoy about the gaming industry.

So you've been constantly no-life'ing away in Ghost of Yotei: Legends these past two weeks? Well, have you ever sat down between that time to wonder if there are any more games out there that have a satisfying gameloop like this multiplayer mode?

Let's be real, Sucker Punch truly made Yotei Legends feel one-of-a-kind with its four different classes as well as a tightly packed progression loop with three different modes and a raid that's dropping soon. In fact, you may rightfully think no other game may come close to getting you and your friends addicted to it like this one.

Ghost of Yotei: 8 Best Armor Sets, Ranked

Join us as we rank the best armor in Ghost of Yotei.

However, as someone who's largely spent a major chunk of his life playing grindy and cooperative multiplayer games like this with his friends, take some time to check these games out if you loved Ghost of Yotei Legends. I promise they're worth a gander.

The entire list of picks here largely differ in gameplay and genre, but the focus here is the cooperative DNA and engaging progression loop found in Ghost of Yotei: Legends, because let's be real, no game can match its gameplay feel.

8 World War Z

Same All-out Slaying Energy, but With Zombies

World War Z gameplay

If you spent hours in Ghost of Yotei Legends just slaying with your teammates, specifically in the Survival game mode, World War Z offers a lot of the same enjoyable elements. However, it presents them in a completely different setting. Instead of a mythical samurai fantasy, you face a battalion of chaotic zombies.

It’s an interdependent co-op, so having a good team will make you feel unstoppable, especially when your teammates are actively holding some angles by themselves. And much like choosing between a Mercenary or Shinobi, your role in World War Z shapes the entire team’s strategy.

Oh, and if you value high levels of replayability, then you'll be happy to know that you can easily create a satisfying loop for yourself here, from unlocking new perks and weapons to testing your squad's prowess out on increasing difficulty tiers for better rewards.

7 Destiny 2

Don't Get Too Intoxicated With the Grind

Destiny 2 Fate

As someone who religiously played the first game and retired in the second soon after the Final Shape DLC, Destiny 2 feels like the toxic ex that you just can't seem to escape. Is that a bad thing? Well, it's hard to tell considering the precious memories and moments it has given me throughout my life.

However, I can't argue with how Bungie consistently created a satisfying game loop featuring one of the best gunplay systems in the modern FPS genre. Their live-service ethics are questionable for sure, but needless to say, it is still a looter shooter that you'll have a darn good time with if you have a buddy or two to run every expansion's campaign or (possibly) even its prestigious endgame content.

With three different classes, they all have a variety of builds that periodically change with balance patches or seasonal updates. But just to be safe, pick the Titan. Trust me, they're the most GOATed class in the game as long as you don't listen to the crayon-eating allegations. And with the recent Renegades expansion, any Star Wars fan is undoubtedly going to have a feast in the game's current state.

6 Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2

For the Emperor

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II

Even though they couldn't look more different on the surface, Space Marine 2 scratches the same itch that you'd get from playing Yotei Legends on and off. Instead of katana duels, you’re ripping through hordes of Tyranids with chainswords and bolters.

It’s chaotic, but when it works, it feels just as satisfying as a perfect Survival Mode run in Yotei Legend, such as covering teammates when they’re overwhelmed or holding down the fort while your teammates regroup.

And much like the aforementioned titles and more later, SM2 also leans heavily into the role-choosing aspect since you have quite a few classes to choose from: Ones like Assault and Tactical, focusing on damage, while unorthodox ones like Bulwark focus on providing support, especially with their Chapter Banner perk.

5 Remnant 2

A Never-Ending Cycle of Death, Literally

In Yotei Legends, one could easily make a case that general survivability wasn’t always guaranteed during endgame content, especially the Incursions; you had to rely on your team even if you held your own as much as possible.

Thankfully, Remnant 2 taps into that same tension during co-op. Enemies hit hard, bosses hit harder, and suddenly, positioning, revival, and communication matter way more than just your builds or raw skill. You’ll have those moments where one teammate is down, another is kiting a horde of trash fodder, and you’re scrambling to clutch the run.

Plus, after all the released DLCs since launch, you have access to 14 different classes here in the form of the Archetype system. And with the game's signature procedurally-generated world design and souls-like challenge curve, you can sink a huge chunk of time here with your buddies or even by yourself.

4 Aliens: Fireteam Elite

Torch Those Xenomorphs

At their core, both Aliens: Fireteam Elite and Yotei's Legends Mode are built around tight, three-to-four player co-op. You’re not just bulldozing yourself through missions here because you’re relying on each other to survive them.

In Fireteam Elite, you’re constantly covering angles, calling out threats, and sticking close because one mistake can spiral into chaos. You've got a relentless Xenomorph swarm pouring out of vents and walls. The tension builds the same way: slow at first, then suddenly overwhelming because you're setting up turrets, locking down corridors, and desperately trying to keep the line from breaking.

I know that Yotei: Legends has a slower pace than you'd expect here, but given the class synergy and the quick tactile feel of the gameplay, this is seriously a no-brainer pickup. Bonus points if you're a fan of the Alien movie franchise in general.

3 Nioh 2

Exhilirating Co-Op Action

nioh 2

One of the biggest reasons Nioh 2 clicks for players coming high off of the horse from Yotei Legends is how deliberate and skill-based the combat feels. You’re not just button-mashing since you'll need to actively read enemies, manage Ki, and time your attacks carefully.

Even though I feel this game should be played in single-player for the first time as a new player, the co-op is a great way to experience teamwork for those interested. One player might pressure a boss while another plays safer and revives or buffs. It feels less like chaos and more like a coordinated dance when it clicks.

Moreover, both games draw on Japanese history and mythology, but their tones are very different. One's an obvious, playable, supernatural folktale for up to 4 players. And on the other hand, Nioh 2 is grittier and more oppressive, leaning heavily into Yokai horror.

2 Monster Hunter World

Fashion is the Endgame, Actually

Monster Hunter World Iceborne

I wouldn't speak about the series as a veteran or anything, but playing Monster Hunter World for the first time in 2018 on my PS4 made me fully engrossed with what it had to offer. The easy-to-pick-up but steep learning curve of each available weapon type, the various monsters to hunt, and the game's intended focus on good 'ol jolly cooperation.

It was a recipe for success from Capcom, especially for my friends and me, who loved multiplayer action games with a heavy emphasis on grinding for loot and gameplay that required everyone to share the burden.

MH World scales the number of players appropriately with each player, making each fight a true battle unless you're rocking an endgame arsenal on your hunters. And the cherry on top of everything is the Iceborne expansion, which adds a plethora of new content alongside the Master Level Hunter Rank difficulty.

1 Helldivers 2

For Freedom... For LIBERTY!

Grab your buddies, prepare your stratagems, and get ready to dish out a heavy dose of Liber-Tea in Helldivers 2. Although it is in a totally different ball league than Yotei Legends, this is by far the game with the most potential to deliver in both progression and gameplay.

While it lacks any build or loot rewards aspect, Helldivers 2 fulfills that incentive via its various Warbond passes that grant you unique armor sets, weapons, and other tactical equipment. Each player can then customize their very own loadout before embarking onto the battlefield with mechs, vehicles, and tanks. You have a near-unlimited array of possibilities here.

I can easily promise that you'll have a grand time with your buddies as long as you obviously level up while optimizing yourself with the best Stratagems to adequately clear those damned Terminids, Autoamatons and Illuminate. Just try not to be too much of a troll and kamikaze yourself or your teammates with a Hellbomb and Eagle 500Kg.
