Elemental damage shines through with this bow build.

Thorns is an enchantment that allows you to damage enemies that hit you. It essentially redirects some of the damage back at your opponent, and it is a tool that you can utilize to a decent extent.

So what does a build using the thorns enchantment look like in No Rest for the Wicked? Let's break that down.

Wall of Thorns Build Attributes

No Rest for the Wicked Thorns Build Attribute

The Wall of Thorns build for No Rest for the Wicked is a tankier build that requires you to wear heavy armor to withstand enemy attacks. It will also require a decent amount of health, strength, and faith.

Currently, the highest level in No Rest for the Wicked is 30, so you will need to tailor the build around that. I recommend the following stats for this build.

Attribute

Points

Health

25

Stamina

25

Strength

26

Dexterity

10

Intelligence

10

Faith

36

Focus

10

Equip Load

25

Your health and stamina will both be set to 25. This will give you a decent amount of health to work with and a fair amount of stamina to tank enemy hits and attack back.

Next, your strength will be 26 and your faith will be 36. This will allow you to wield the weapon and shield of choice for this build effectively. After this, set your dexterity, intelligence, and focus to 10, as these will not be utilized.

Finally, since you will be using heavy armor, you will want a higher equip load. We will set this to 25. Even with this number, you will be heavy, so keep that in mind.

Wall of Thorns Build Weapon and Shield

No Rest for the Wicked Thorns Build Falstead's Fury

This build focuses on using a one-handed sword and a tower shield, giving you a strong defense and an equally strong attack. Two unique items in the game are perfect for this build: Falstead's Fury and Falstead's Barricade.

Falstead's Fury is a unique one-handed sword with the following enchantments:

  • Damage increased by 12% against large enemies.
  • Damage increased by 28% at full health.
  • Max health increased by 19%.
  • Deal 21% damage on parry.

Additionally, Falstead's Barricade is a tower shield with the following enchantments:

  • Deal 24% damage on block.
  • Gain 9% focus on block.
  • Indestructible.
No Rest for the Wicked Thorns Build Falstead's Barricade

First, Falstead's Fury is great because it will grant you additional health, and if you choose to parry, you will deal additional damage. More importantly, it gives you a damage buff against large enemies, which is particularly good for bosses. Since you will be fighting many large enemies during pestilence outbreaks, this buff is great in all situations.

Next, Falstead's Barricade works amazingly well with the thorns enchantment. Since it deals damage on block, you will harm the enemy that hits you while blocking, plus additional damage due to thorns.

Both of these items should have the lifesteal infusion, as this will allow you to attack enemies to regain health, potentially keeping you at full health to proc the damage buff from Falstead's Fury.

Wall of Thorns Build Armor Enchantments

No Rest for the Wicked Thorns Build Enchantments

As stated before, you will want to wear heavy armor for this build. Since you are meant to get hit, you will want as much armor as possible.

With some good armor picked out, you will want to apply the following enchantments:

  • Gain X% Thorns.
  • Poise Defense Increased.
  • Physical damage increased by X%.
  • Gain X% regainable health.

There are additional bonuses that are useful, such as armor increases and specific elemental increases. The Falstead's Fury I prefer to use as the lightning infusion, meaning I use lightning damage increases on some pieces of armor.

In addition to this, you will want the Feather Ring to increase your equip load, the Stone Tusk Ring to increase your armor, and the Solace Ring to give you more regainable health.

Prior to having access to the weapons and shield used in this build, you can substitute a shield with the thorns enchantment that you can craft.

How to Use the Wall of Thorns Build

No Rest for the Wicked Thorns Build Combat

The main focus of this build is to tank attacks and then attack back for additional damage. As such, you will want to use your shield often.

Use your shield to block attacks and then attack back to regain the health lost. You can repeat this process to keep your health high and prevent yourself from needing to heal.

This build is very simple, allowing you to play a bit recklessly and still survive easily. The main focus is to block any attack that you can to make the enemies get damaged by attacking you.

The reason I prefer to use a lightning-infused weapon is to chain lightning damage to multiple enemies and make the build more crowd-control focused.
