Laurence is an avid writer, gamer, and traveller with several years of journalistic writing experience under his belt. Having helped create a student-focused magazine at university, he is keen to reach the gaming community with his guides and game reviews.

Whether it's trudging through the world of Elden Ring, or grinding out raids in Old School Runescape, Laurence is always up for a challenge. However, in real life, his current challenge is learning how to speak Spanish and cooking authentic Mexican cuisine.

Jack Pepper, protagonist of Mouse: P.I. For Hire, might be one of the best detectives in all of Mouseburg, but do you know what he’s even better at? That’s right, shooting some killer photos! And, of course, blasting his way through hordes of monochrome minions, but that’s not important right now.

In the side job, Between Alpha and Omega, Jack is tasked with collecting evidence of infidelity by the wife of some nasty BMP mouse. Is this something we really want to do? Probably not, but then again, this Yes-Man doesn’t exactly deserve a happy ending either.

Gritty noir detectives and wacky cartoon hi-jinks make a remarkably great pair in this fast-paced FPS.

In any case, we’re getting paid, so best not think about it too much and get on with the job. Here’s how to complete the task and proceed with the main mission.

How to Start Between Alpha and Omega

Mouse PI Stilton

First off, you’ll need to speak with Stilton to receive the main job that takes place on the river cruise.

Upon selecting this mission in the south of the overworld map, you’ll spawn in the engine room of the boat. Proceed through this area, climbing up, until you emerge onto the main deck of the barge.

Here, you’ll find a bouncer who will ask for your entrance card. Ignore him and head to the left and up the stairs. Double back, and you’ll find yourself blocked by a bunch of pesky mice. From here, head north, inside the ship and open the door to Cabin VI.

In this room, you’ll find a stack of suitcases that leads to a little ventilation shaft. Clamber up and shine your flashlight to light the way. You’ll end up in a large, fancy Cigar Lounge. Here is where you will find the BMP Yes-Man, who will give you the side job.

How to Complete Between Alpha and Omega

Speak with the BMP mouse, and he will ask you to snap a photo of his partners’ extra-marital mischief.

Head up the main flight of stairs, leading up towards the Typewriter and head out through the double doors. Immediately turn right and head down the stairs. Go past the Undercover Agent, or speak with him to begin another side job, if you wish.

Head onward, and there is another set of stairs that lead downwards. Head down these stairs and go straight on towards the final window on the right. Here, you’ll see a couple through the window. Interact with the window, and snap a picture of the two of them.

You’ll be given the Infidelity quest item. Once you have this, return to the BMP mouse in the Cigar Lounge to complete the side job.

Be sure to complete this task as soon as you find it. If you continue on with the main story, you’ll be locked out of this job.

Rewards

Mouse PI Yes Man Rewards

Upon job completion, you’ll be rewarded with the following:

  • x50 Coins

While it’s not a huge amount of money, the task doesn’t really take very long, so there’s little reason to avoid it. If you refuse to complete the job, you will forfeit this reward.

Upon returning to the main hub, you can spend this money on a quick round of baseball cards or refill your weapons from the Ammo Merchant.
