The gates of Yharnam have swung open once more, as Sony has announced that it's making a Bloodborne movie, and that it will be an R-rated animated film in the spirit of the original game.
Bloodborne is often considered to be FromSoftware's crowning achievement, as it inserted the Dark Souls formula into a gothic, Lovecraftian setting and ramped up the gameplay speed to eleven. Despite its popularity, Bloodborne has often felt like a forgotten franchise. This is due to Sony being the publisher and keeping it as a PlayStation 4 console exclusive, not even giving it a basic remaster on PlayStation 5.

Bloodborne is ten years old, and lots of veteran players are still coming back to Yharnam.
The age of silence is over, as Variety is reporting that Bloodborne will return as a movie. Unlike FromSoftware's live-action Elden Ring film, the Bloodborne project will be an animated movie, one that promises to be just as violent as the source material.
Bloodborne Is Being Turned Into An Animated Movie
Bloodborne is an R-rated animated film that's being produced by PlayStation Productions, Lyrical Animation, and Seán McLoughlin, better known as JackSepticEye. The movie is said to be “very true” to the high levels of violence in the original game, meaning it's going to earn that rating.
Unfortunately, no other details have been revealed about the Bloodborne movie, and since it has only just been announced, fans will have to wait a while to learn more. Chances areit will be close to the Sekiro TV show, an adaptation of the story rather than a prequel or sequel.

Fans are ecstatic at the prospect of a Bloodborne movie, mostly because it confirms that the franchise is continuing. If nothing else, it's going to get Sony and FromSoftware moving, forcing them to make a Bloodborne remaster or remake to coincide with the film.
The Bloodborne movie won't launch for a few more years at least, and fans will have to wait to see whether the Sekiro and Elden Ring adaptations are up to snuff before they get hyped for the return to Yharnam.
