Everything is more fun, cute and chaotic with cats, including the game of chess! So sit back, and lead your furry friends to The Purrfect battle of brains and whiskers. Classic chess reinvented with attitude, humor, and, of course, adorable cats. We are not saying Cat Chess will change the future of gaming… BUT… there SHOULD be a chess game with cats, right? How come there isn’t one? How can that be?! If you’ve played card games like Hearthstone, Gwent (set in the world of *The Witcher*), and similar titles, you know that developers often place interactive objects on the game board that let players interact with the cards or the characters on them.

There are items like that here—for example, a ball of yarn or a laser pointer—and they’re incredibly fun! Instead of focusing on a game of chess, it’s easy to spend some time just playing with the pieces. There are also three game modes: PvP, PvE, and a campaign mode. After about five or six campaign levels, it becomes clear that the AI in Cat Chess takes a long time to ramp up in difficulty.

In other words, anyone who knows even the basics of chess will likely find the opening matches far too easy. PvP is probably the most interesting mode—after all, the competitive aspect in games like this is always top-notch! Cat Chess was released quite recently, yet no critical flaws or bugs stand out, aside from the absence of an “End Match” button at the end. At first, it can take a while to figure out how to continue playing.
