To celebrate the first anniversary of this Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG, Kepler Interactive and Sandfall Interactive are inviting the community to join the Expedition’s party. So, grab as many macarons and éclairs as you can because it is time to celebrate with a free update!

New Looks and Fresh Fixes for Expedition 33

For starters, the French studio is inviting everyone to grab their baguettes again, as a free anniversary update is now live. While concise, Patch v1.5.5 adds special anniversary haircuts for every member of the Expedition, which can be acquired through Gestral Merchants.

Gustave's new look is available at the Gestral Merchant near Stone Wave Cliffs, while Verso, Maelle, Lune, Sciel, and Monoco can find their new styles at the Gestral Merchant near Grosse Tête on the World Map. Check out the new looks in the gallery below:

Alongside the cosmetics, the patch includes some quality-of-life fixes and UI adjustments. Key updates include resolving collision issues in various locations, refining achievement descriptions for consistency, and fixing the glow effect on the Danseuse outfit for Lune and Sciel. Also, the bug preventing players from opening a rest point during in-world dialogue has been squashed.

Patch v1.5.5 adds special anniversary haircuts for every member of the Expedition, which can be acquired through Gestral Merchants.

The anniversary report also shared some staggering milestones for the title! To date, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has sold over 8 million units worldwide and was confirmed as the biggest launch for a new third-party partner game on Game Pass in 2025.

It also seems that the game’s impact extends far beyond gameplay, since the French studio revealed that the original soundtrack has been streamed over 617 million times (reaching 645 million when including the “Nos vies en Lumière” and “Verso’s Drafts” tracks). These numbers propelled the OST to six number-one spots on the UK Official Albums Charts, second place in France and Germany, and six Top 5 positions on the US Billboard charts across this past year.

Finally, Sandfall Interactive is inviting even more players to don their horizontal-striped shirts by offering a massive discount on PC. Throughout the weekend (ending April 27), Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is 20% off on Steam.
