Hades 2 and Ghost of Yōtei lead the field in nominations

After racking up a record number of wins at The Game Awards last week, critical and commercial darling Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has received yet another Game of the Year nomination — this time from the New York Videogame Critics Circle.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is up against a strong list of contenders for the New York Game Awards' Game of the Year category, including Blue Prince, Hades 2, and Ghost of Yōtei. Clair Obscur is also nominated for Best Acting in a Game (for Jennifer English) and Best Music in a Game. It's Ghost of Yōtei and Hades 2, however, that have the most nominations at the New York Game Awards. In addition to a Game of the Year nom, Sucker Punch's game also nabbed recognition for Best Writing, Best Acting (for Erika Ishii), and Best Music. Hades 2 also garnered noms for Best Acting (for Judy Alice Lee), Best Music, and Best World.
The 2026 New York Game Awards will take place on Sunday, Jan. 18, at the SVA Theatre in Manhattan, and will be streamed via YouTube and Twitch. Read on for the full list of 66 games nominated for next year's New York Game Awards.
