Those new Endless Tower bosses are no joke

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's free DLC released at the conclusion of the 2025 The Game Awards on Dec. 11, and players have been reckoning with its high difficulty curve since. The free "Thank you Update" adds a photo mode, broader localizations, and a new area, Verso's Drafts. It also includes some of the most difficult bosses in the game yet.

In addition to Verso's Drafts, which includes its own difficult spoiler-y final boss, the DLC added more fights to the Endless Tower, and that's where players are really beating their heads against the wall in frustration (or, should I say, against the canvas). Players have taken to Reddit to languish with the community over how difficult they are.

"Duolliste had me screaming," one player commented in a post about how the Duollistes has a challenging second phase. "Endless Tower DLC is killing me," reads the title of another post. The new bosses forced one player into a bit of self-reflection: "I’ve come to terms with the fact I’m too casual of a gamer to ever beat the new Endless Tower bosses." Expedition 33 players can always lower the difficulty (and can thank star Jennifer English for that) if the challenges prove too great.

Those Endless Tower bosses have sparked discussion about the game's difficulty and balancing, with one post lamenting what a player perceives as the Endless Tower's "pure artificial difficulty." Without spoiling too much, the Endless Tower additions take the base game's most difficult Act 3 bosses (including you know who) and ramps up their combo lengths and damage output. In the end, however, these bosses are meant to be ridiculously challenging endgame additions, and they seem like they're serving that purpose.

However, this is to say nothing of the DLC's greatest challenge: another Gestral Beach. Godspeed, everyone.
