Crimson Desert features a massive open world to discover with secrets around every corner. It's also a world that is quite deadly, featuring challenging bosses that will give you a run for your money.

While Crimson Desert isn't technically a Soulslike, it does borrow elements from that genre. For example, its boss fights require patience and force the player to learn the moveset of their opponent in order to come away victorious.

In this list, we focus on the eight most challenging bosses in the game that will most likely take you multiple attempts to defeat. Here are the hardest bosses in Crimson Desert, ranked from hard to hardest.

8 Hexe Marie

Teleporting Witch

Of all the bosses on this list, I'd say that Hexe Marie is the most annoying. With her ability to summon dead soldiers and crows to attack the player, there is so much going on during this fight, making it hard to keep your attention on the boss at all times. On top of having to defeat the smaller enemies to create some breathing room, Hexe Marie also has the ability to teleport across the arena, meaning that dealing damage to her is very tricky.

Hexe Marie is the perfect example of what I like to call a "jank" fight. It's filled with artifical difficulty just to frustrate the player, instead of being well-designed with a clever attack pattern that rewards players' attention to detail. The reason Hexe Marie isn't higher on this list is because once you know how to deal with the annoyances of this fight, it becomes much easier.

7 Myurdin, Avatar of Umbra

Diverse Moveset

Myurdin, Avatar of Umbra is a challenging fight for two reasons: he deals an insane amount of damage and the fight consists of two brutal phases. The first phase is a challenge, yes, but it's the second phase that will give the player a run for their money. Being able to summon multiple different weapons, jump into the air and slam to the ground, quickly claw at the player, Myurdin is filled with attacks that are unpredictable and deadly.

It's essential to go into this fight with tons of health items, fully upgraded skills, and your absolute best armor equipped, or you don't really stand a chance. I mean, it kind of makes sense that this boss is so difficult, considering it's one of the last main bosses of the game. Luckily, despite the brutal challenge, Myurdin, Avatar of Umbra is actually designed very well and is one of the best boss fights in Crimson Desert.

6 Reed Devil

Speed Demon

The Reed Devil is considered the first major roadblock players will encounter on their journey in Crimson Desert. This boss is a massive pain due to its incredible speed, quick attack patterns, and enormous damage output. While Reed Devil has gotten significantly easier with various patches, it is still very challenging and demands a ton of skill from the player.

Reed Devil's attacks come in rapid succession, forcing players to constantly remain on their toes to avoid getting trapped in extended combos. His mobility allows him to attack players from different angles, making it tough to play defensive or even land a hit on him to deal any damage. Plus, having to destroy decoys of the Reed Devil around the arena is super frustrating. The only reason why Reed Devil ranks lower on this list is because his patterns become easier to recognize after repeated attempts.

5 Kearush the Slayer

Absolute Powerhouse

Kearush the Slayer is one of the hardest boss fights in Crimson Desert, and he earned that reputation due to his devastating power. One wrong move against this boss, and you will see your health bar diminish to almost zero. Also, regardless of Kearush the Slayer's enormous size, he is still surprisingly fast on his feet.

Poorly timed attacks will have Kearush countering and punishing the player, making it important to only strike when there's a clear window of opportunity. However, since Kearush is constantly applying aggressive pressure to the player, finding a chance to land an attack is very difficult. This fight is a test of endurance, positioning, patience, and knowing exactly when to commit to an attack.

4 One Armed Ludvig

A Change in Playstyles

The reason One Armed Ludvig is such a difficult boss is because players face him almost immediately after changing to Oongka for the first time in the game. Up until this point, players have spent roughly 40 hours controlling Kliff, learning his moveset, speed, and abilities. Being forced to switch to Oongka for this fight against One-Armed Ludvig is just unfair. It's unfair since the player is not used to Oongka's playstyle, so it puts them at a significant disadvantage.

This wouldn't be such a big deal if the boss wasn't as challenging as it is. One Armed Ludvig requires players to perfect dodge consistently, avoid lightning AoE attacks, and find small windows to attack to inflict damage on him, all while learning the playstyle of Oongka. Of course, you can go off and practice with Oongka and then return to this fight, but that's a pain if you're just looking to switch back to Kliff and continue on with the main story, which can only be done by defeating One Armed Ludvig.

3 The Forgotten General

Illusionary Army

The Forgotten General is one of the most challenging bosses in Crimson Desert because the fight constantly overwhelms the player with multiple threats at once. Not only do you have to worry about the boss itself, and her speedy attack patterns, but you also have to worry about her summonable army that comes from each side of the arena. There's just so much going on here that it can become stressful quickly.

Due to the Forgotten General's very high health pool, this fight can soon feel like a chore filled with frustration. Many of her attacks can eliminate a large portion of the player's health bar in just a few hits, while her long combo strings leave very few opportunities to heal or counterattack. To make matters worse, the fight takes place in a confined arena that limits movement, making it significantly more difficult to avoid attacks.

2 Ator, Archon of Antumbra

No Room for Error

Ator, Archon of Antumbra, is one of the most intimidating bosses in Crimson Desert because he combines speed with AoE magic attacks. Unlike slower bosses that allow players time to recover, Ator rarely gives players a moment to breathe. It's a fight that requires fast reflexes to avoid magical projectiles and patience to fully understand Ator's moveset. Dodge an attack too late or too soon, and you can say goodbye to a good chunk of your health bar.

The biggest challenge with Ator is learning when it is safe to counterattack. Players who rush in without fully understanding his moveset will quickly be punished, making patience and precision essential in order to succeed. It’s a fight that took me dozens of attempts, making him one of the hardest bosses I faced in Crimson Desert.

1 Beloth the Darksworn

Freeze!

While the competition was pretty close on this list, the hardest boss in Crimson Desert is Beloth the Darksworn. This optional boss is a test of patience as it will most likely take you dozens of attempts to bring him down. Beloth the Darksworn comes stacked with a complex moveset involving a halberd swing, dashing, smashing the ground, swinging combos, stab attacks, and even hailstorms and halberd tornados. This boss does it all.

Another reason why Beloth the Darksworn is such a pain is because you have to deal with the freezing environment, which messes with your stamina and halters movement. Slowly losing stamina on top of having to deal with Beloth, who deals immense damage, leaves few openings for players to attack, and possesses a complex moveset, makes this the most challenging boss fight in the entire game.
