CD Projekt Red and WeirdCo launched a Kickstarter fundraising campaign for The Official Cyberpunk Trading Card Game on Tuesday at 12 p.m. EDT — and smashed through its $100,000 goal in just five minutes.

Within a matter of hours, the campaign added a graphic calling it the most-funded trading card game in the history of Kickstarter. As of this writing, the campaign has raised more than $8.3 million from over 10,000 backers, with 30 days still remaining. Nearly every stretch goal has already been unlocked, and the final $10 million tier could fall within days — or even hours.

“Hey chooms, we did it,” the WeirdCo team wrote in an update on the campaign page after the project was fully funded.

As pledges surged, the team scrambled to keep up with new stretch goals. “You gonks are crazy. We already broke our $3 million stretch goal!” they wrote less than an hour after launch. “You're blowing past these goals before we can even release them.” The campaign crossed $5 million in less than three hours.

"The response has been nothing short of amazing," WeirdCo co-founder and president Elliot Cook told Polygon via email. "Becoming the largest TCG in crowdfunding history in under 12 hours is a massive signal; our chooms are ready to build something truly special with WeirdCo." Cook also referred to CD Projekt Red as a "dream partner," noting that representatives were on site in Seattle with the WeirdCo team to push the campaign live yesterday.

"With overwhelming momentum from fans and local game stores alike, the Cyberpunk TCG isn’t just launching, we are kicking off a game that truly builds the human connection," he said.

Most of the campaign's stretch goals upgrade the game’s beta box. Early tiers added extra booster packs and a promotional “Legend” card featuring V: Corporate Exile. As funding climbed, additional variants and expanded card pools were introduced featuring characters from the Cyberpunk 2077 video game and Netflix's animated series. At $4 million, all booster packs were upgraded to guarantee two rare-or-higher cards. If — or more likely, when — the campaign hits $10 million, every beta box will include an additional Legend pack.

Backers will receive rewards in two waves. The first, scheduled for Q3 2026, includes starter decks, beta booster displays, and related add-ons via express shipping. A second wave, arriving in Q4 2026 with standard shipping, will deliver the remaining products.

Originally announced in December 2025, the Cyberpunk TCG adapts the world of Cyberpunk 2077 into a competitive card game centered on building a crew, equipping gear, and completing gigs.

With 30 days left to go on the campaign, Cyberpunk TCG isn’t just breaking records. It’s testing how big a Kickstarter trading card game can actually get.
