Dungeon Masters, Dungeons & Dragons' official actual play show, is about to wrap up its first season with an epic finale for its Ravenloft campaign. Ahead of the final episode, a beautiful animated trailer teases what lies in wait for the team led by Dungeon Master Jasmine Bhullar.

The trailer, shared exclusively with Polygon ahead of the official reveal on Dungeons & Dragons' YouTube channel later today, shows the party of Professor Crem de la Crem (Neil Newbon), Zora Thornska (Devora Wilde), Eloin Emberleaf (Christian Navarro) and Wesley (Mayanna Berrin), gearing up to face Lord Soth, the legendary villain from the Dragonlance setting who returns as a darklord in Ravenloft: The Horrors Within, the new campaign sourcebook for D&D's popular horror setting.

While the trailer is brief, the art style is captivating and makes me wish we could get a full animated series soon. For now, fans will have to be content by watching the first campaign of Dungeon Masters, which is fully available on D&D's YouTube channel. The season finale will air on Wednesday, June 3 at 6:30 p.m. PDT/ 9:30 p.m. EDT.

The party of heroes, who found themselves unwillingly spirited away to the terrifying Realm of Dread known as Sithicus, has barely survived a first confrontation with Lord Soth, before embarking on a quest to recover three banshees that can help soothe the darklord, in order to save Crem and Zora's daughter, who has been captured by Soth. They are close to recovering the third and final banshee, but don't expect Lord Soth to go down without a fight.

The first season of Dungeon Masters showcased the contents of the new Ravenloft campaign book, but it's also a fun adventure that serves as a great introduction to D&D for new players. The all-star cast did a great job in bringing the story woven by Bhullar to life, and it's hard to get to the final episode without caring a lot for these characters.

You can catch the season finale of Dungeon Masters on Dungeons & Dragons' YouTube channel on June 3.
