Dave the Diver's Into the Jungle DLC has finally landed after a year or so of anticipation, with players eager to literally dive into the game's biggest post-story content yet. The main storyline for Into the Jungle takes an average of 7-8 hours to complete, while fulfilling all side quests, mini-games, and other additional content ups your game time to around 18-20 hours. This puts it almost on par with the base game's storyline, which takes around 25 to 30 hours. It means you'll be able to spend ample time in Utara, exploring the jungle and all that it has to offer, with plenty to do in the local village and beyond.

How to Start Into the Jungle DLC in Dave the Diver

Starting Dave the Diver's Into the Jungle DLC is actually a fairly easy process. Initially, a prerequisite would have required players to complete the entire main storyline of the base game before being able to access the new content. However, out of fairness to the entire community, particularly those who may no longer have a base game save file, that's no longer the case.

If you wish, you can start the Into the Jungle DLC immediately, without a base game save file present. Ensure that you've purchased the DLC ($9.99 USD) for your desired platform and have it fully downloaded and updated. Launch the game, and you'll receive a prompt on the title menu that Into the Jungle is installed and available for you to play. You can start it either from an existing save file (depending on your progress), or immediately from the title menu without a save file, effectively skipping the entire base story up to the events of the DLC.

If you have a base game save file that includes progress up to the main story's epilogue, you can start the DLC from that point as a more natural means of progression. While on your boat with Cobra, Dr. Bacon should approach you on his boat and kick off the quest called "Friends" that starts the DLC. If you don't see him, try diving and then returning to the boat to trigger his appearance.

Otherwise, if you opt to start the DLC without a save file, you'll immediately be taken to the boat with Cobra, and the starting quest will transpire pretty much the same way, with Dr. Bacon paying you a visit. Whichever option you choose, follow the objectives of the Friends quest, and soon enough you and the gang will be trekking into the jungle on your next big adventure.
