For over 10 years now, Dead by Daylight has been crossing over with several horror properties to have iconic horror villains and protagonists become Survivors and Killers in the asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror game.
Most of these licensed Killers have been villains from horror films and shows, such as The Xenomorph from Alien, but there have been a handful of Killers from horror games like Castlevania, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Five Nights at Freddy's.
While the next licensed Killer in DBD is expected to be Art the Clown from Terrifier, Behaviour Interactive should consider adding these 10 video game villains as Killers due to their popularity, iconic history among horror titles, and ways that they can serve as fun, innovative Killers.
10 Foxy
FNAF's Menacing Pirate Animatronic
Of all the video game franchises Dead by Daylight's crossed over with, only Resident Evil features two Killers with The Nemesis and The Mastermind, but I think at least one other gaming franchise deserves to get another Killer, with that franchise being Five Nights at Freddy's.
Currently, the only Killer representing FNAF is The Animatronic, otherwise known as Springtrap, but I'd argue that Foxy the Pirate from the first FNAF game could serve as another great Killer as he was easily the fastest and most creepy animatronic among the original cast of Freddy's Fazbear Pizza.
Foxy could debut in a future FNAF-themed chapter, possibly as a tie-in with the Five Nights at Freddy's 3 live-action film, and be called The Pirate with his signature hook hand serving as his main weapon and his power potentially giving him a brief boost as a reference to how Foxy would sometimes sprint in the first FNAF game.
9 General RAAM
Gears of War's Most Iconic Villain
So far, Behaviour Interactive hasn't implemented any Killers from console-exclusive franchises, but with Gears of War: E-Day potentially revitalizing the Gears of War series, it would be fun to see Xbox and BI collaborate in the near future to release a GOW-themed Killer like General RAAM.
GOW isn't exactly a horror franchise, but it's always been full of horror elements, with one of its most terrifying villains being the gigantic Locust General RAAM, who personally led most Locust forces in wiping out 25% of humanity on E-Day and viciously wiped out COG soldiers with his massive serrated knife and bat-like Kryll.
If General RAAM were to become a Killer in Dead by Daylight, he could be called The Locust and his weapon could be his serrated knife, while his power could be called Kryll Swarm and temporarily cause a group of Kryll to slightly damage players for a bit, unless they're near a repaired generator since Kryll are harmed by light.
8 Alex Mercer
A Doctor Turned Monster
While Activision's Prototype franchise may more or less be dead, as it hasn't received a new entry since 2012's Prototype 2, it's still fondly remembered by many gamers for its enthralling gameplay, open-world, and, most notably, its vicious protagonist, the shapeshifting Alex Mercer.
Mercer would make a fantastic Killer for Dead by Daylight, as his Blacklight virus powers allowed him to sprint and jump great distances, famously transform his arms into razor-sharp blades and claws, and consume DNA of others to copy their physical appearance.
As a Killer, Alex Mercer could be called The Prototype and use his claws as his primary weapon, while his power could be called Blacklight Consumption and allow him to temporarily transform into a Survivor after sacrificing one Survivor.
7 The Walrider
A Ghost of Lethal Nanites
Red Barrels' Outlast series is easily one of the most horrifying survival horror franchises of the 21st century and among all three Outlast games, there are several terrifying antagonists that can serve as great Killers in Dead by Daylight, but I'd argue that the best one would be The Walrider.
The Walrider, otherwise known as William "Billy" Hope, is the first Outlast game's main antagonist, with Walrider being the codename for a project to use a Morphogenic Engine to force patients to control a swarm of nanites that to most people appear to be a ghost or phantom.
Despite being only nanites, The Walrider can easily throw, crush, and rip apart foes, making him a perfect Killer who could play somewhat similarly to The First, The Hag, or the Spirit, with a power potentially allowing players to unleash swarms of nanites on players or even force Survivors to use cameras to see The Walrider like Miles Upshur does in Outlast.
6 The Keeper
The Hardest Safe to Crack
Among all the game franchises Shinji Mikami ever created, The Evil Within is arguably his most underrated and underutilized franchise, as it only has two games and there hasn't been a new entry in the series since 2017's The Evil Within 2 despite both games being fantastic survival horror games similar to Resident Evil.
With The Evil Within centering around nightmarish sequences created by people plugged into the virtual reality STEM machine, there are several monstrous and grotesque creatures that could function well as Killers, but I'd argue that the best one would be the Keeper.
The Keeper is easily The Evil Within's most iconic creature, as his safe head and meat tenderizer are instantly intimidating and his power to respawn from other safes on the ground can be particularly terrifying, making him a perfect fit to become a Killer in DBD as safes could be placed around maps similar to The Xenomorph's tunnels.
5 Big Daddy
Rapture's Hulking Protector
2K's BioShock is undoubtedly one of the greatest games ever made and, despite not having a new game released in the series since 2013, BioShock still remains fairly popular, and it would be great to see 2K and BI collaborate soon to have the iconic Big Daddy become a Killer in DBD.
Among all of BioShock's enemies, Big Daddies and their variations are easily the most dangerous, as they can easily charge and eviscerate people with their massive drills, rivet guns, RPGs, mines, and occasionally Plasmids whilst defending Little Sisters.
The Big Daddy could potentially join DBD in a chapter tying into the release of the upcoming BioShock 4, with his drill acting as his main weapon and having a power that could grant them a temporary speed and damage boost after being stunned a few times, similar to how Big Daddies become enraged if attacked in BioShock.
4 Goro
Outworld's Greatest Champion
Like Gears of War, Mortal Kombat isn't exactly a horror game franchise, but it features several horror elements, with the series featuring some of the most visceral gore and monstrous combatants in the fighting game genre, and one fighter who would be a perfect fit for Dead by Daylight is Goro.
A four-armed Shokan from Outworld, Goro was Shao Kahn's greatest champion in the original Mortal Kombat timeline, having defeated the Great Kung Lao and winning nine consecutive MK tournaments until he was defeated by Liu Kang.
There aren't any four-armed Killers in DBD yet, unless you count the tendrils of The Ghoul and The Dredge, so it'd be fun to see Goro act as a Killer in DBD, with his power potentially giving him the ability to perform Fatalities on Survivors after downing Survivors a certain number of times.
3 Slender Man
The Definitive Creeypasta
Out of all the creepypasta stories and characters out there, none are as influential or well known as the Slender Man and while he did originally appear as a creepypasta, his popularity boomed when he appeared as the main antagonist of 2012's Slender: The Eight Pages.
In Slender: The Eight Pages and its sequel, Slender: The Arrival, the Slender Man is able to teleport around and torment players with static when they look at the Slender Man and collect more pages.
Later depictions of the Slender Man would feature him with tentacles protruding from his back, so Dead by Daylight's version of the Slender Man could play somewhat similar to The Slasher by being able to teleport around maps, attack players with tentacles, and force Survivors to collect pages in order to easily see Slender Man.
2 The Hunter
An Invincible Necromorph
Easily one of the best sci-fi horror gaming franchises out there is Dead Space and while EA seems to have no interest in making any more DS sequels or remakes, EA and BI could collaborate to create a DS-themed chapter in Dead by Daylight, possibly having Isaac Clarke become a Survivor and The Hunter become a Killer.
The Hunter is easily the most terrifying Necromorph in the first Dead Space game and its 2023 remake, with it being practically invincible thanks to being able to endlessly regenerate its limbs and being able to constantly hunt down prey by crawling through air vents and stomping in hallways.
If The Hunter were to become a Killer in DBD, his power could function in a way that knocking down pallets could cause The Hunter's legs to fall off, forcing him to wait until they regenerate while additionally being able to jump out of vents that spawn throughout the map.
1 Lady Dimitrescu
Resident Evil's Great Modern Villainess
The Nemesis and The Mastermind both represent different eras of Resident Evil, with the former representing the original fixed camera angle era and the latter representing the more action-packed era of the Seventh console generation, but I think it's time DBD got a new RE Killer representing its modern first-person era.
The perfect RE villain to represent this era as a Killer in Dead by Daylight would undoubtedly be the vampire-like internet phenomenon Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village.
As a Killer, Lady Dimitrescu could be called The Countess and have her elongated claw-like nails be her main weapon, while her power could function similar to The Oni's Yamaoka's Wrath, with her being able to suck up blood from wounded Survivors until she's able to briefly take down Survivors in a single hit.
