Not all of these world quests are created equal. Some are the World of Warcraft special: kill X amount of items and loot Y amount of items. Others are a little trickier and require you to solve a puzzle. Everyone loves puzzles, right? Everyone except World of Warcraft players, that is.

One such puzzle is through the Deciphering Darkness world quest in Voidstorm, which has players scratching their heads on how to complete it. Honestly, though, it's pretty simple once you realize what you're looking for, and our guide will cover the basics.

Solving the Deciphering Darkness Puzzle in World of Warcraft: Midnight

First things first: where exactly is the Deciphering Darkness puzzle? It's tied to the Deciphering Darkness world quest in Voidstorm at Locus Point, as indicated on the map below:

It's visible from the flight path, and the interactable puzzle has a glow on it. Provided someone isn't standing right in front of it on their mount, that is.

Run up to the puzzle, right-click to open it up, and let's get to work. This is far simpler than it seems: the goal of this puzzle is to align the dots with their partner. As seen at the start, there are two lines: solid blue lines and frantic red lines.

The blue lines mean that the dots are perfectly aligned. The red means that they are not aligned, but that's okay; we can see which dots are tethered together and can get to work.

Clicking on two dots will swap their positions; they do not have to be tethered to swap. You'll use this to your advantage to line things up properly, as indicated in the video below:
