Dustpile is a Steam dating app that will help clear your backlog

We all have a gaming backlog. Games that we started then fell off for one reason or another, those we bought on sale, promising that we'd play them as soon as possible. Those games that have sat in our library, taunting us because despite knowing they're good, we lack the motivation to begin.

Knowing where to start with your backlog is tough, but someone has developed a tool that will help you decide, and it's essentially Tinder for your Steam games. Called Dustpile and created by X user tolgatr0n from Dumbbell Games, all you need to do is paste in the link to your Steam profile, choose certain parameters such as which games should show up based on how long you've played them for, and click "load my library."

From here, you'll be shown all of your Steam games that meet your chosen criteria in a random order. Each game is given a virtual card, and you can press X (aka swipe left) to pass on it, or press the heart (aka swipe right) to add it to your list.

Each card displays the Steam tags for the game, a brief summary, how long it takes to beat, the top user reviews, and more. Pressing the "smart order" button will display games according to your genre taste and ratings, while "I'm feeling lucky" will randomly select one game from your list.

Alternatively, if you're looking for the next game to buy, you can also sift through your wishlist in the same fashion. This doesn't filter out games that aren't out yet, though, so you'll need to double-check release dates in this mode. Oh, and if you have a friend you want to play with, you can also filter to co-op games you both already own.

Once your list is complete, you can even start "face-off" mode, which pits all the games you've swiped right on against each other in a knockout bracket, to determine the true winner. Alternatively, you can choose to rank them all in a tier list, or simply export your list as a JSON or CSV file. All I've learned is that I really need to finish Zero Parades.
