This first-person noir adventure takes about 6-8 hours to finish, and is one of the most underrated games released in 2024.

The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark

Keeping up with the theme of barely disguised adaptations, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark takes you back to the town of Twin Lakes, population 75666, and no association whatsoever with Twin Peaks, population 51201.

This pixel art delight captures the chaotic supernatural vibes of Twin Peaks' third season, released the same year as the game's prequel, but also has a healthy infusion of The Twilight Zone.

As part of the Darkside Division, you get to investigate different supernatural occurrences with an expertly balanced mix of humor and darkness. The Darkside Detective is the perfect example of why minimalistic game design works so well when done right.
