Everyone's Laughing At The New Look Of DLSS 5's "Yassify Filter"

Nvidia has unveiled its new upscaling technology, DLSS 5, which it's calling "a dramatic leap in visual realism." However, early examples look an AI filter applied to video game faces that change the features of characters like Resident Evil Requiem's Grace Ashcroft. Some fans have already dubbed it the "Yassify Filter" for the unnatural way it attempts to make characters appear more attractive.

Players didn't take long to start roasting the new tech, and DLSS 5ed faces and characters have already become a meme. Please note, however, that the examples below aren't actually made using the new DLSS 5 technology. Or, at least, we hope that's the case.

Thus far, the responses to the early tech demo of DLSS 5 have largely been negative in social media, but video game publishers, including Capcom, Bethesda, Ubisoft, and Warner Bros. Games appear to be bullish on it. Nvidia has announced that some of the games that will support DLSS 5 this fall include Resident Evil Requiem, Starfield, Hogwarts Legacy, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Assassin's Creed Shadows, and more.
