Enjoy the first two Styx games before the third launches next month

Epic Games Store users can grab two well-received stealth games for free this week. The first two Styx games will be free for a limited time.

They both star Styx (not that Styx), a two-centuries-old goblin who's just trying to understand his past in Styx: Master of Shadows. He sneaks around, steals, gathers information, and, of course, assassinates along the way while exploring the miles-high Tower of Akenash. Master of Shadows features a "strong focus on hardcore stealth and infiltration," so you'll have to rely on your wits and skills to not get caught.

Styx: Shards of Darkness picks up after the events of the first game. It features similar stealth and assassination gameplay mechanics as the first game, but this time presented with Unreal Engine visuals. Shards of Darkness features a co-op mode in which a second player can join you as a clone of Styx.

Styx: Master of Shadows and its sequel are being made free a month before the third entry, Styx: Blades of Greed, comes out Feb. 19, so now is as good a time as any to get into the series. If you want to pick up the Styx games for free, all you need to do is log in to the Epic Games Store and claim them. They will be free until Thursday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. EST.
