Go Viking was designed to capture the most dangerous question in tabletop gaming: do you push your luck, or return home while you still can?
Each turn, you lead a Viking raid by rolling Destiny Dice, gathering Loot, and deciding whether to risk it all for more. Temporary Mythic Powers drawn from carved Runestones give you divine influence, but only for a moment. When your turn ends, the gods fall silent, and fate shifts again.
The result is a game that is fast to learn, fierce to play, and endlessly replayable. No two turns feel the same. No saga ever unfolds twice, and no victory is ever guaranteed.
Let's Go Viking - Secure your rewards now!
Every roll tells a story
In Go Viking, a roll of the dice is not just a test of luck. It is a moment frozen in time.
Attack and enemy defense, success and failure, escape and reward all appear together in a single roll. What happens next depends on how boldly you act and how wisely you call on the gods.
This design ensures that every raid feels tense, immediate, and personal, no matter how many times you play.
How the gods shape every raid
In Go Viking, power does not belong to the player. It belongs to the gods.
At the start of your turn, you draw two Runestones from the bag. These grant Mythic Powers, but only for this turn. When your turn ends, their favor fades, and the gods may answer differently next time.
Odin may grant you foresight, letting you reroll fate itself. Freya may bend destiny, turning failure into opportunity. Thor brings raw force, smashing through shields without mercy.
And Loki never helps without a big risk.
Loki’s power allows you to clash with other players, stealing Loot from their Hoard, but the risk is extreme. One bad roll can hand your riches to an enemy instead. Loki exists to break comfort, punish greed, and pull the table into chaos.
Together, the Mythic Powers ensure that no two turns feel the same. Power is strong, temporary, and unpredictable. You are not mastering a system. You are surviving the will of the gods.
Designed for real game nights
Fast sessions. Big moments. Flexible depth.
Go Viking is built for how games are actually played. It sets up fast, teaches itself as you play, and delivers tense, memorable moments in a short amount of time. One game rarely feels like enough, and sessions naturally chain into “just one more.”
- Quick playtime: 15 to 30 minutes
- Teach-as-you-play design
- Works for 2 to 6 players, with modular setup that lets each table decide how chaotic the saga becomes
- Designed for repeat play, where consistency matters more than a single lucky raid
- Compact and travel-friendly, easy to bring along and set up anywhere
- Scales from casual laughter to tense tactical play
- Solo play may be unlocked during the campaign, allowing one Viking to face fate alone
Go Viking fits into the small hours of life while still leaving stories worth retelling. It’s the kind of game you bring on holidays, to cabins, or to game nights where space and time are limited. Pull it out, pour a drink, roll the dice, and suddenly the table is alive. No prep. No long commitment. Just one more raid.
At its core, Go Viking is modular by design. You choose which Mythic Powers are in the bag. You decide which modules to include. You shape how myth-heavy, tactical, or chaotic each saga becomes.
The Core Game stands firmly on its own. The expansion Reign of Heroes adds depth for those who want more interaction and asymmetry. Future stretch goals may unlock additional Mythic Powers and new ways to play, all designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing system.
The bag changes. The table changes.
The saga is never the same twice.
“This game nails what push-your-luck dice games are about: tension, speed, and meaningful risk. One raid can be legendary, but it’s the long grind that decides the saga.”
Live on Gamefound: Go Viking
Go Viking is live on Gamefound with one core reward and fully optional expansions. Every backer begins with the same core journey. From there, you may choose to expand your saga.
- Go Viking Core Game: The complete base game featuring Destiny Dice, carved Runestones, Loot tokens, Mythic Powers, and the iconic Drinking Horn first-player marker.
- A Jarl’s Tale (Optional Add-On): A solo narrative expansion featuring branching encounters, replayable sagas, and meaningful choices woven into the core mechanics.
- Reign of Heroes (Optional Add-On): A multiplayer expansion introducing Viking Clans, Legendary Destiny Dice, and new Mythic Powers that deepen interaction and strategy.
During the campaign, stretch goals may unlock additional content. Planned and already scoped goals include new Mythic Powers and a compact solo mode that allows one Viking to face a short sequence of dangerous raids alone.
All stretch goals are designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing system, adding variety and replayability without increasing complexity.
How to Go Viking
Every raid in Go Viking is a battle frozen in time, resolved in one roll.
On your turn, you roll the Destiny Dice, and you are not just rolling your attack. You are rolling both sides of the fight at once. Axes, shields, ships, and loot all appear together, a single moment of chaos resolved in symbols.
The fight is simple. Count your Axes and count enemy Shields.
If your Axes are equal to or higher than their Shields, you win the raid. If your Axes are lower, you lose.
- Victory: Pillage and set aside any Loot you rolled as your temporary Raid Stash.
- Defeat: Flee or fail? Your Raid Stash is lost but if you rolled at least one Ship, you escape with your pride. If you rolled no Ship, you also surrender Loot from your Hoard.
Then comes the real question: Do you Raid Again, or Return Home?
Each time you choose to raid again, you roll more dice, chasing greater rewards, and risking a harsher fall.
Mythic Powers bend this moment. The gods may let you reroll, change symbols, steal advantage, or escape disaster, but only for this turn. When it ends, their favor fades, and fate shifts again.
The Raid Rhythm
- Draw two Runestones to gain temporary Mythic Powers
- Roll three Destiny Dice to begin the raid
- Compare Axes vs Shields to resolve victory or defeat
- Use Mythic Powers to manipulate the result
- Decide to Raid Again with one more die or Return Home with your Raid Stash
How the game took shape
Go Viking is not a concept game. It is the result of repeated iteration, hands-on testing, and continuous refinement over time.
Development focused on:
- Clear iconography and readable dice
- Fast turn flow with minimal downtime
- Tension that grows naturally as raids escalate
- High replayability without unnecessary rules
Rules were adjusted, simplified, and reshaped until the game consistently delivered the experience it was designed for: bold choices, rising tension, and meaningful risk.
