After years of development and multiple delays, Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 6 is finally launching on November 19, and you can now actually preorder the game. The $80 game arrives on November 19, but you can actually preload it a week earlier, which is nice for the countless people who no doubt want to begin playing the second they can.

GTA 6 preload schedule

GTA 6 players who preorder a digital copy of GTA 6 can begin preloading on November 12. This is to "ensure they are able to play at launch," Rockstar said.

GTA 6 is not going to be released on a disc, but Rockstar is still selling physical copies of the game at retailers with a code in the box.

The game's physical edition will be available to buy on November 12 "to support preloading," Rockstar said. So if you walk into a GameStop or Walmart on November 12 and see a copy of GTA 6 on the shelves to buy, you can do so, but the game itself won't unlock until November 19.

The file size

GTA 6's file size has not been disclosed as of yet, but many are expecting it to be huge. GTA 5's file size varies by platform but can be more than 100 GB. Given that, we would expect GTA 6 to be at least 100 GB as well.
