Hey everyone, it's 'Merth from Fya Mblm'

Tragedy quietly struck the Fire Emblem community earlier this week. A Seattle-area gamer stumbled across a fantastic homemade bust of Marth priced at a mere $7, only to walk away without making a purchase. Redditor DookyButter shared a photo of the sculpture of the blue-haired lord, leading to an outpouring of more than 1,300 likes and several questions about the fate of the eye-catching object.

When told by one commenter, "You better have bought it," DookyButter replied, "Thought long and hard but decided against it unfortunately" and noted "My living space is not worthy of this masterpiece." Later in the thread, the user added, "If you or anyone else is in Washington state, specifically south of Seattle, feel free 😂"

In the days since, there have been several new posts to the Fire Emblem subreddit featuring fan art and cosplay, but sadly it appears no other fans in the Evergreen State have swooped in to claim this one-of-a-kind objet d'art.

As expected, Fire Emblem fans goofed on the Marth bust — one commenter described it as "Merth from Fya Mblm" — but it's clear this homespun art project has some genuine charm. A lot of the commenters said they would have bought it, and I am with them! Part of the appeal here is that it appears to be positively gigantic, significantly larger than a real human head, but the photograph may have been taken from an odd angle.

Let this be a lesson to us all: Never put aside childish things, even if your new girlfriend or boyfriend thinks your Fire Emblem art projects are weird and embarrassing. For all we know, this neglected jewel could end up on Antiques Roadshow in a few years as a pristine example of outsider art. In the meantime, a big ol' Marth head would be a great place to store all your dumbest hats.
