How to beat Red Death in Vampire Crawlers

Red Death is the final boss in Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors, which means he isn't exactly the easiest enemy to defeat. In fact, defeating him seems impossible until you find a way to survive his first attack, but with a revival stack, a freeze ability, and an epic Crawler duo by your side, the odds will be in your favor.

Here's how to beat Red Death in Vampire Crawlers.

How to defeat Red Death in Vampire Crawlers

As Red Death instantly kills you at the end of every dungeon, the most important thing you'll need is the ability to revive yourself. Krochi is the Crawler you need; he'll gain 10% revival when played, and 5% revival when a wild card is played. In other words, he can replenish your revival stacks.

Pugnala is the second-best Crawler to use, as she'll allow endless card draws by playing yellow cards. Be sure to play Spellbinder cards and use other duration stat boosts to keep her ability activated. Her effect, together with Attractorb cards, gains several cards in one go. Be sure to play enough Tome cards (and other mana-boosting effects) to keep up with the cards' mana demands.

To equip both Crawlers, purchase a Crawler Slot in the Shop. You can add a third Crawler, such as Imelda (extra experience from playing yellow cards), but it's not necessary to beat Red Death. The best stats to invest in are magnet, revival, cooldown, hand, and growth. With a few Spellbinder cards in your deck, you won't need duration.

There's one more important card you'll need in your deck: the Clock Lancet, which applies freeze. See the six purple eyes surrounding Red Death? When all six eyes are open, Red Death will attack you. Every card you play opens one eye. Luckily, you can prevent the attack by freezing Red Death just before the sixth eye opens. In other words, use the Clock Lancet card to freeze Red Death when five eyes are open, then continue playing as usual until the five eyes are opened again. Just in case you fail to freeze Red Death, try to play wild cards whenever you can to replenish your revival stacks with Krochi.

So, make sure you have at least one revival stack at the end of a dungeon, then play your yellow cards (especially Attractorbs) to draw more cards following Red Death's first attack. Next, use Tome cards and Spellbinder cards to replenish mana and prolong your Crawlers' durations, respectively. As long as you have yellow cards and mana to spare, you can pull attack cards into your combo to start dishing out damage, but don't forget to freeze Red Death before that sixth eye!

Here are a few recommended gems and arcanas to beat Red Death in Vampire Crawlers:

  • Quickdraw (gem): Place it on a yellow card like the Attractorb to draw that one first — guaranteed extra cards!
  • Reverse Combo (gem): You reverse the combo order, allowing you to continue the combo in descending mana order. Essential if you want to deal a ton of damage within one turn.
  • Decimate (gem): Deals 10% of Red Death's HP as damage. A few of these in a row, and he'll be dead.
  • Coin Count (gem): If you're a coin hoarder with maximum greed, this can actually be really powerful, as it allows you to deal damage based on your coin stack.
  • Mana Cost (gem): Boost a card's mana cost to 4, 5, or even higher to make them part of a longer combo.
  • Wild (gem): Turns a card into a wild card, thus making it easier to stack Krochi's revive ability.
  • Mana Syphon (arcana): Adds 1 mana per 100 cards played. Not essential, but handy.
