How to Complete Artist's Retreat Challenge Guide in Phasmophobia

If you've been around the block a few times in Phasmophobia, then you know that some maps in the game are more popular than others. One of the most notoriously disliked maps is 13 Willow Street, with its bland aesthetic and ridiculously claustrophobic basement. However, like its other one-story cousin (Tanglewood), this map has gotten a much-needed facelift, the latest in a series of top-to-bottom reworks that are set to bring the game to the next level with its 1.0 release in 2027.

As per tradition, with a rework comes a new challenge, and the revamped 13 Willow Street has gotten one called the Artist's Retreat challenge. There are rewards that come with conquering all this map has to offer, so here's what to expect upon stepping foot inside, and how to complete the challenge itself.

How the Event Board Works in Phasmophobia

The Event Board acts as the go-to hub in Phasmophobia's main lobby for all seasonal and map-related challenges, as well as the infamous Apocalypse challenge (the most difficult in the entire game). It's located in the back left corner of the main lobby room, near the van, so it functions separately from the bulletin board where you queue for investigations and adjust settings, loadouts, and character customization.

You can interact with and view the brochure for each challenge on the board by manually selecting them, and as of the Quality of Life 1 (v0.18.0.0) update, the board now features two "pages" of challenges. You can alternate between them via the arrow icons on the top side of the board.

How to Complete Artist's Retreat Challenge

You can view the brochure for the Artist's Retreat challenge on the second "page" of the Event Board in the main lobby. Similar to other challenges in the game, to complete it, you need to successfully complete 50 contract investigations on the revamped 13 Willow Street map.

To do that, you simply need to correctly identify the ghost type and survive to make it back to the van and leave the premises. If you're playing solo, this means you must survive the investigation yourself. Meanwhile, if you're in a group, at least one person in the group must survive and return to the van to complete the contract. You can track your progress with completed contracts for this challenge via the brochure on the Event Board, as a gauge at the bottom of it will indicate your current progress.

All Cursed Object Locations on Reworked 13 Willow Street

Since 13 Willow Street got a complete rework with the Quality of Life 1 (v0.18.0.0) update, that means not only a somewhat different interior layout, but also new spawn locations for items like Cursed Objects. You won't find them in the same spots on the old version of the map, so you'll need to know where to find them in order to make effective use of them.

Haunted Mirror

The Haunted Mirror spawns in the Gym Room, on the far left wall beside the doorway leading into the adjacent shower room.

Monkey Paw

The Monkey Paw spawns in the Studio room in the back right corner of the first floor of the house, directly across from the Master Bedroom. It'll be on the shelf against the wall filled with cat drawings and paintings.

Summoning Circle

The Summoning Circle spawns on the floor in the Kitchen area, near the door that leads to the Gym room.

Tarot Cards

The Tarot Cards will spawn on the small table between two chairs in the Basement Bar area, next to the billiards table.

Voodoo Doll

The Voodoo Doll will spawn on top of the cat house in the back right corner of the Master Bedroom, tucked behind a chair in that corner.

Ouija Board

The Ouija Board spawns on top of the dresser at the bottom of the stairs in the Basement, immediately to the right. It'll have a yellow football painting hanging over it.

Music Box

The Music Box spawns on the shelf in the Living Room, which is the first room when you enter the house.

All Hiding Spots on Reworked 13 Willow Street Map

Hiding spot locations have also been adjusted to accommodate the new interior layout of 13 Willow Street, so it's important to know where each one is for when you find yourself needing to duck in cover from a hunting ghost.

Note that depending on the difficulty you're playing on, these hiding spots may or may not be available for you to use.

Below is a list of all potential hiding spots:

• Living Room - Behind wood partition on the left side of the room
• Kitchen - Pantry closet across from the main kitchen area
• Gym - Shower inside the bathroom
• Studio - Behind the easel in the back-right corner of the room (from where you enter)
• Master Bedroom - Behind a wood partition near the vanity table and/or the open closet on the left side
• Basement (Bar Area) - Underneath the stairs behind some boxes
• Basement (Utility Area) - Behind black storage bins near the brick wall when walking straight into the utility section of the basement.

All Artist's Retreat Challenge Rewards

The main reward for completing the Artist's Retreat challenge in Phasmophobia is the Sun Seeker ID Card and Badge (seen above), which depicts the poolside area behind the house along with a flamingo floatie for the badge. It's a notably lighter aesthetic than many of the game's other ID cosmetics, and a perfect fit for the summer season before the next Crimson Eye event rolls around in the fall.

Note that this ID card and badge only come in a static version, meaning there's no foil version to unlock alongside it.
