Stephanie Watel is a writer for DualShockers. She has over three years of experience writing about all things video games, from news to lists to in-depth guides in a variety of genres. Her strongest niches start with RPGs and also include platformers, horrors of every variety, cozy builders and sims. She also enjoys a good looter shooter and the occasional gacha adventure.
Games have been her biggest passion since getting a Nintendo 64 for Christmas in the 90's and she carries that passion into all of her published content. With DualShockers, she specializes in crafting polished, informative, and enjoyable gaming guides that help pave a clear path for players and don't skimp on the details that matter most.
While Warren Marsh's journey back to the heart of Phoenix-City is the focal point of REPLACED, there are still plenty of opportunities to interact with and help various characters at Western Station, a haven run by the Matriarch and Ironwood. These brief chances to aid innocent civilians not only add more depth to the story as a whole, but they can also provide some vital rewards.
One such quest is found near the station and has you help an ailing elderly man seek out his last wish. If you're not sure where to start, here's how to complete the Family Reunion quest in REPLACED.
Family Reunion Quest Location in REPLACED
The Family Reunion quest can be picked up during Chapter 4 of the main story from an NPC called Old Man. Head to the Hospital area west of the station, and run to the right until you find the area where the Doctor is (his side quest is done during Chapter 2).
Approach the Old Man lying on the hospital bed on the left side and speak to him. Due to his failing health, he wishes to see his family before the time comes, and asks you to find and bring them to him.
Similar to other side quests in the game, this can only be completed during its respective chapter, so don't leave it for later, as you may get locked out of it!
How to Complete the Family Reunion Quest in REPLACED
Once you've spoken to the Old Man and picked up his quest to find his family, leave the Hospital area and head to the tent section under the overpass. Look for the green tent covered in white flowers, which should be the last one on the right side of the tent area, toward the station. Unfortunately, there's no one to be found in it, but there are plenty of trinkets that lead to what you can bring back to him instead.
Interact with the tent, and you'll get several options to search it via its contents, such as the bed, a bag, a suitcase, and some books. Searching these options leads you to contextual hints for how to open a lockbox that's also in the tent.
Each of these hints includes a specific date, which is highlighted in yellow as the point of focus for the lockbox code. Splice these from the descriptions, and the dates are as follows:
- 02/10/1953
- 05/18/1955
- 06/06/1944
From there, you're also given a hint via a note posted in the tent itself that reads: "Winter, second half, leap year". This represents the numerical order you need for code. Looking at the dates, "02" alludes to a winter month, "18" is a day in the second half of a month, and "1944" is a leap year.
With that, the code for the lockbox is: 02-18-1944
Once done, you'll be able to open the lockbox and find the Family Photo inside. Head back to the hospital and bring it to the Old Man. After some emotional dialogue, the quest will be completed, and you'll receive the Genetic Profile 5 upgrade, which increases your maximum health by half a heart.
You'll also unlock the Family Reunion achievement for your efforts.
