How to Complete the Avian Alarm Project in ARC Raiders

With a new update comes a new project, and today, we’re looking after some birds! But seriously, these birds are pretty important in combating the ARC threat. Not only do they offer some calm companionship for our underground allies, but they also seem to alert our scavengers about the incoming presence of ARC units! Useful indeed.

The new ARC Raiders Riven Tides update not only introduced a new map, but also interesting new collectibles in the form of little boats! Naturally, these boats are going to be pretty crucial in getting through this new project. What do the boats have to do with an avian alarm system? I’m not sure… but best not question it, right?

Let’s take a look at the 5 stages of the new project and how to gather the materials required to get it done!

Initial Flock Intake

Unlike other projects, before you can actually start contributing your collected materials, you’re going to need to complete a little errand.

Head out onto the Riven Tides map and start hiking towards the beachfront. There are several places along the beachfront where you can place the bird cages. One of the easiest to find is the one directly north of the Port Authority Building. Look for the large red Buoy and place a cage beneath it.

You can realistically get this done within the first few minutes of the match. At this point, either finish the round or head straight back to Speranza to complete the first stage of the Project.

After completing this section, you will receive the following:

• 1x Dockmaster’s Detector
• 25 Raider Tokens

Preliminary Signal Birds

From here, we return to the usual format of the Projects. It’s your job to head out to various maps and collect a bunch of items to help build the project. It makes sense to go out to different maps, as it is much easier to collect materials on maps that benefit that category. But don’t worry, you’ll still be spending a good amount of time on Riven Tides.

The second stage of the Project requires the following items:

• 7x Tick Pod
• 20x Canister
• 12x Moss
• 5x Twilight Compass Ship Model

If you haven’t found any ships yet, this is the new collectible trinket that can be found scattered throughout the Rustbelt. There are 5 ship variants, 1 for each rarity.

While Beachcombing on Riven Tides with the new Dockmasters Detector is a decent way to find these boats, this method can be a little slow and somewhat inconsistent.

If you want, you can actually head out onto different maps and look for ships this way. I found that looking in areas with a lot of trinkets, for example, the apartment complexes in Buried City, have many of the green and blue rarity ships. If you want to get stuck in the new map, however, try the hotel, as many ships will spawn there.

For the moss, the easiest way to get it is from the swamp area, on Dam Battlegrounds. All the greenhouses have equipment on which the moss grows. You’ll easily grab 12 in 1 match if you head there early on. In the worst-case scenario, you can also buy 5 moss from Celeste every day.

After completing this section, you will receive the following:

• 1x Heavy Gun Parts Blueprint
• 3x Surge Coil
• 25x Raider Tokens

Secondary Validation Birds

The previous stage was pretty easy, and this one follows suit, with a bunch of items that aren’t too difficult to come across. Here’s a list of what you’ll need:

• 3 Comet Igniter
• 10x Fertiliser
• 8x Rusted Tools
• 5x Velocity Ship Model

Comets were introduced in the Shrouded Sky update, and can be a real nuisance to deal with. They will barrel towards you and explode in your face. To get the igniter, you need to destroy it before it blows up. The best way to do this is either to shoot it from a distance or to wait for it to open up and use a single round of the hullcracker to deal massive damage.

Fertiliser is best gathered from the swamp on Damn Battlegrounds, while Rusted Tools can be found in Mechanical areas, like from heavy crates or from buses.

The Velocity Ship Model is pretty similar to the previous Twilight Compass Model, being only slightly rarer. Once more, check in places like Ruby Residence or Grandioso Apartments early into the match.

After completing this section, you will receive the following:

• 1x Anvil IV
• 1x Anvil Splitter
• 50x Raider Tokens

Heightened Alert Birds

OK, this is where the needed materials start to get a bit tricky. Here are the items you'll need to gather:

• 1x Vaporiser Regulator
• 3x Water Filter
• 8 Agave
• 5x Sirena Dorata Ship Model

Let’s get the easy ones out of the way first. No doubt you’ll have found Agave before. It’s located on maps like Buried City, with plants around the perimeter. Water Filters can be found in industrial zones and are extremely common under map conditions like Night Raid.

In terms of Vaporiser Regulators, your best bet is to head onto a map with the Close Scrutiny Map Condition active. Anywhere that the large loot containers spawn, Vaporisers will be close by, generally spawning in pairs. Try to go in with a bunch of people and take down the Vaporisers with a Hullcracker. Rush in as it lands and throw down a Smoke Grenade. You only need 1 regulator, so don’t get greedy.

In terms of the Epic rarity Ship Model, this one will take the longest. You can find this once again through beachcombing, or in lootable containers on Riven Tides. If you have any Hotel Keycards, you’ve got a pretty good chance of finding the Sirena inside, so make these counts.

After completing this section, you will receive the following:

• 1x Gel Patches (Cosmetic)
• 1x Riven Tides Hotel Keycard No. 311
• 50x Raider Tokens

Critical Warning Birds

Finally, you’ve made it to the final project tier, and as you might have expected, this is another fairly brutal one. At this point, you’re going to want to stockpile as many of the metal detector items as possible. These can be found in Metal Crates around Riven Tides. Here is the list of items you’ll need to collect:

• 2x Turbine Compressor
• 3x Red Coral Jewellery
• 4x Roots
• 1x Leviathan’s Crown Ship Model

Once more, let’s check off the easy items. The Jewellery can be found in Old World and Residential areas, where trinkets are abundant. These are pretty easy to find, especially on a high-loot-value map condition.

In terms of roots, these are relatively easy to find if you know where to look. They can be found in the breachable beach coolers, which are common north of the Hotel on Riven Tides. In addition, you can find them in kitchen areas, like in the Stella Montis Atrium. They can also be found at the base of certain trees in Riven Tides. These will be far more common in the Lush Blooms event.

In terms of the Turbine Compressor, you’ll need to take down some Turbines, which are the new large-ARC released along with Riven Tides. These can spawn on a variety of open maps, but generally only appear around halfway into the round.

The best way to tackle these ARC is by shooting through their plating while it’s grounded. You can get a few shots in, hide for a bit, wait for the Turbine to return to the ground, and rinse and repeat. This is really slow, but it will guarantee you the kill eventually. You can try taking it out while it’s in the air, but the lightning attacks will take you down extremely fast if you’re not beneath cover.

Finally, we have the Leviathan’s Crown Ship Model, which is exclusively found through the beach combing Map Condition on Riven Tides. This is why I mentioned that you stockpile the metal detector items.

This Ship Model can only be found in the buried suitcases. Some maps will have lucky seeds, making this more common. You can generally tell if you get 5+ items in a suitcase, you’re on a lucky beachcombing seed. If you only get 3, you should probably reload the match and try again. This may take a long time to find, as the odds of finding suitcases are pretty bad. But at least you only need 1. Silver linings, am I right?

For completing the final section, you will receive the following:

• 1x Birdhouse Backpack Attachment
• 1x Fist in Air Emote
• 1x Acoustic Guitar
• 100x Raider Tokens

With this final step, you will have completed the Avian Alarm Project.
