ARC Raiders' new Cold Snap update introduces a new event for players to enjoy, the Flickering Flames event. This event will take place over a month and provide players with the opportunity to earn new rewards.

More than that, it gives players a greater reason to delve into the Cold Snap map events that now take place. You'll need to brave the harsh winters if you're hoping to complete the new project in this extraction shooter.

These are common mistakes that lead to players dying too frequently in ARC Raiders.

There are five total steps and plenty of rewards to earn, so you'd better be ready to really hit the ground running. This guide will cover all the items you'll need to acquire and what you'll get for your troubles.

What is the Flickering Flames Project?

You should've been greeted by a lovely notification informing you that the holidays of ARC Raiders are upon us. As such, the people living underground need something to cheer them up: Candleberries.

These berries are a large part of what you'll be hunting for items-wise in-game. They can only be found on maps affected by the Cold Snap event, so bring your warm weather gear. Completing this will get you the rewards shown in each tier, as well as get you a bit farther in the new event pass.

Completing the project will be a bit tough since, for the most part, you'll be stuck trying to find all the items you need. You can always check the places where they spawn most often, but you'll still be at the mercy of the RNG gods.

This guide should let you know what exactly you need to keep and what you can get rid of. With the Expedition here now, you may want to be wary of what you scrap and sell as you prepare to leave or restock your stash.

Flickering Flames — Candlelight

This one is pretty easy to knock out, and if you've saved up some materials, you can complete it for the most part the first time you see it. The Durable Cloth can be crafted from Fabric you've collected and the Plastic Parts you can purchase from Celeste if you really need to.

The difficult part will be getting your hands on the Empty Wine Bottle you need, but with enough searching through residential areas, you'll find it. You'll get the following rewards for donating these items:

  • Firecracker x5
  • 2,000 Merits
  • 50 Raider Coins

By throwing in the Plastic Parts and Durable Cloth, you get enough Merits to cover half the cost of the Candleberries.

Flickering Flames — Decorations

This one may present some issues since you'll need to find three kinds of items. Each of these typically spawns in different locations, so if you're hoping to find them, you may want to plan your route accordingly.

It is an extraction shooter, so you can't simply run off half cocked if you want to escape with these items. Find a map that has at least two of the necessary locations and hit them as quickly as possible so you can get these rewards:

  • Red Light Stick Blueprint
  • 2,000 Merits
  • 50 Raider Coins

In electrical places that have cars nearby, you can typically find Light Bulbs. Candle Holders and Industrial Batteries don't seem to have specific spawns.

Flickering Flames — Presents

Surprisingly, this should be another relatively easy part to complete, as you can craft one of the items, and the other you can find in spades around the maps. The real issue here will be the Film Reel and, of course, the Candleberries.

Checking Residential areas first is always the best way to find these items. Since you'll need to go out in the cold anyway, hitting the locations during the Cold Snap will get you these rewards faster:

  • Trailblazer Grenade x3
  • 2,000 Merits
  • 50 Raider Coins

Flickering Flames — Beverages

Coffee Pots might be the bane of your existence here, as they don't seem to spawn all that often. Water Filters and Fireball Burners are fairly easy to get by comparison. Just make sure you bring enough safe pockets for what you're after.

You'll probably want to stick to locations on Buried City or Dam Battlegrounds if you're hunting for Coffee Pots. These have the most Residential areas, making them the easiest way to get the following rewards:

  • Vita Spray
  • 2,000 Merits
  • 50 Raider Coins

Now you're almost done, but the hard part is just getting started. If you thought getting the upgrades for Scrappy was rough, well, get ready to go hunting all over again.

You can still stick to Residential areas for the most part, but for Mushrooms, you'll want to find any Nature locations you can. The easiest place is in baskets scattered throughout the maps or in the Hydroponic Dome Complex, so you can get the rewards:

  • Snaphook
  • 2,000 Merits
  • 50 Raider Coins

Once you've managed to deliver all the items you need, you'll get an extra bonus reward. A nice little present to celebrate the holidays and hopefully put a smile on your face.

After all this, you're free to finish up your event pass by playing some more rounds and earning XP. You should only have a bit more to go to claim the final rewards in the pass, but you'll get the following rewards for finishing the project:

  • Snowglobe Backpack Charm
  • Bettina Rank III
  • Extended Barrel
  • Kinetic Converter
