Being a survival game, StarRupture makes you build various machines and structures to aid you on your journey. For instance, the Smelter is a must-have structure that will aid in crafting items using Titanium, Wolfram, and Calcium.

StarRupture: How to Get Rotor and Tube Blueprints
On an Alien Planet you need everything you can find.
One thing that nearly all of your buildings have in common is their need for power to keep the motors turning. Without power, you won't be able to run any of your drones, power up your smelter, or craft anything with your fabricator.
Luckily, power is a very complicated beast. Let's break down everything you need to know about connecting power in StarRupture.
Types of Power Structures
Multiple structures provide power in StarRupture, but they all share one thing: they are all types of renewable energy sources. For instance, wind, solar, and water.

Solar Generator v.2 |
1,000 Mega Watts |
Reach level eight with the Moon Energy Corporation. |
|
Wind Turbine v.2 |
2,000 Mega Watts |
Reach level ten with the Moon Energy Corporation. |
These four items will allow you to get energy as you progress through the game, with each new energy structure offering more electricity for your base.
Unfortunately, simply building one of these structures will not provide its power to your base, as you need to connect it to your base properly.
Building Power Structures
Now that you know the four types of power structures in StarRupture, you need to know how to build them. Each of these buildings, like all of your buildings, is made using Building Material.
Lower-end buildings, such as the Solar Generator v.1 will require the use of Basic Building Material to construct. As you progress through the game, you will need more advanced building materials.
Stronger building materials consist of Intermediate Building Material and Quartz Building Material.

Connecting Power to Your Base
To connect power to your base in StarRupture, you need to simply build structures connecting your energy buildings to your main base. Energy is transferred via the various building blocks of your base, allowing you to connect it to power through various means.
For instance, you can build multiple power structures and connect them to your main base via an extendable walkway. If you would rather keep the power closer, you can connect it to your base via standard platforms.
Even the different buildings transfer power, so you can place your solar panels next to your smelter to have them power your smelter. As long as part of the bases are touching, power will be transferred.
How to Tell if You Have Power
Now that you have connected everything, how do you tell if you have power running to all of your machines? Simply check your base structures.
If your base structures are lit up with a blue glow in the middle and blue lights around them, you have power, and everything is running properly. If the lights suddenly turn red, you do not have enough power to run everything, and you must build more power structures.
If you do not see a glow, you do not have power connected. This requires you to connect buildings until they are connected to your power structures.
