Throughout your Subnautica 2 adventure, you’re going to be using various tools for all sorts of jobs, be it scanning fish, mining ores, or even blasting apart evil virus plants!

You might have destroyed a few of these plants already, the ones causing damage to the Angel Combs. However, as you progress eastwards, towards the Alien Base and the giant Axum Turbine, you might find that the viral buds you find there are a little more armoured than the previous ones.

As you swim close, they close their shells, protecting themselves from your puny Sonic Resonator. Well, I think it’s high time for an upgrade, don’t you? Let’s take a look at the Feedback Resonator and see where we can get our hands on one.

Feedback Resonator Locations

If you’re looking for pieces of this powerful new tool around the Turbine and Alien base, you’re not going to get very far. There are actually a bunch of these resonator parts for you to scan, but you need to head further afield to find them.

The easiest location to collect both pieces of the resonator is in the North-eastern Root Canyon Biome. You’ll know you’re in the right place as it emanates a harsh yellow-green glow, and there’s a massive Collector Leviathan prowling overhead.

Subnautica 2: Where to Find Troilite

In the depths, no one can hear you scream...

The easiest way to reach this area is with the Depth Module on the Tadpole. However, if you don’t have this upgrade yet, fear not. Instead, you can start on the upper ledges of the area and craft a Dive Elevator to get down to the floor. This will give you plenty of time to scout the area and look for the resonator pieces.

I found 3 pieces in the root canyon area, alone:

  • Firstly, on the western edge of the yellow pools, you’ll find a scrap fitting next to a table.
  • Directly east, on one of the slightly higher levels of the area, there’s a human-made platform with a blue light shining on another fragment.
  • Finally, just south of the yellow area, there is a small nook filled with white light, and a bunch of silver rocks. There is another feedback resonator fragment lying on the ground here.

If you didn’t manage to find all these, you can also pick up another fragment in the Cicada wreck directly south of the main Power Plant Turbine. The scrap is on the floor in the first room.

Subnautica 2 Feedback Resonator Blast

This does everything the Sonic Resonator does, but better. Again, you’ll need to power this tool with normal or Advanced Batteries.

Once powered, you can charge this device to emit a strong pulse. However, this time, the pulse will travel through the water, allowing you to hit things much further away than before. This is how you can destroy those pesky armoured blooms without swimming too close.

Once you’ve destroyed all the blooms to the west and east of the Turbine Angel Comb, you can finally learn the language of the Axums and proceed to the final part of Subnautica’s Early Access.
