Whether it's trudging through the world of Elden Ring, or grinding out raids in Old School Runescape, Laurence is always up for a challenge. However, in real life, his current challenge is learning how to speak Spanish and cooking authentic Mexican cuisine.
The scope of Hytale is pretty astonishing. The full game hasn’t even been released yet, and there are already hundreds of hours of content to amuse yourself with.
Due to this scope, when plonked into this sprawling world, it can be pretty difficult to find your bearings, never mind finding a bunch of obscure items, with no real sense of where to start looking.
The Azure Kelp is one of these obscure items. It’s needed for the Teleporter item, which is unlocked a good chunk of the way into your Hytale adventure. But just where can we get this Kelp, and why is it so useful? Let’s take a look and see just how much the teleporter changes the game!
Azure Kelp Forest Biome
To get the 2 Azure Kelp needed to craft the teleporter, you’ll first need to head over to an Azure Forest Sub-Biome, which can be found in the main Emerald Groves Biome.
This area is very easy to spot, being bright blue on the map, dotted with small pools of shallow water. Generally, one of these biomes is going to be pretty close to your original spawn point, so you can collect this Kelp very early on.
You can find the Kelp sitting in the pools of water, just poking up above the surface. You’ll know the one as it will give off a slight blue sparkle. While you don’t find many of these plants, in truth, you don’t actually need a lot of them, so the scarcity isn’t much of a problem.
Azure Kelp Boreal Biome
If you can’t find one of the blue forest biomes, or if it hasn’t spawned nearby, you can instead head over to the Boreal Biome. Directly beneath the vast snow fields, you can find frozen tunnels that have far larger quantities of the Azure Kelp.

While this is further away, if you want to create a good number of teleporters, I would recommend coming here to gather as much as you can hold.
How to Craft Teleporters
In order to create a teleporter, you first need to craft an Arcanist’s Workbench, which can be done on a normal Tier 2 Workbench with the following items:
- 10x Thorium Ingots
- 30x Linen Scraps
- 20x Essence of the Void
Once you’ve done this, place down the workbench and then select the teleporter. You require the following items to craft a set of 2 teleporters:
- 8x Azure Log
- 2x Azure Kelp
- 10x General Stone
The Azure logs can be found in the same forest biome that you found the Azure Kelp. Simply knock down one of the trees with blue leaves, and you’ll get a good amount of Azure Logs.
At the beginning, you’ll only be able to place 2 teleporters; however, once you unlock more memories and submit them in the Forgotten Temple area, you will be able to access more, making transport across the map far less of a pain. Unlocking 200 memories will grant you the final limit of 8 teleporters.
