How to Get and Use Eternal Seeds in Hytale

Survival in Hytale is very similar to Minecraft's, but with a few better mechanics. This includes the ability to climb ledges, a better combat system, a memory system, and the ability to grow plants eternally.

Unlike other survival games, Hytale has special items called Eternal Seeds that are difficult to obtain but highly valuable. They make gardening a breeze by allowing you to grow plants an infinite number of times.

Let's break down everything you need to know about what Eternal Seeds are, how to get them, and how to use them in Hytale.

What Are Eternal Seeds?

Eternal Seeds look like normal seed bags in Hytale, but they have one key difference. When placed in your inventory, Eternal Seeds have a green aura around the box, letting you know they are different from a standard seed packet.

Instead of being able to use the item an infinite number of times, Eternal Seeds allow you to plant eternal crops that never die out and continuously regrow, making farming a much easier task.

Once you have planted an Eternal Seed, the crop that it grows will shimmer with green specks, indicating that it is different from a standard plant of the same type. When fully grown, harvesting a normal plant will cause the plant to disappear, creating the need for multiple seed packets.

Eternal Seeds, on the other hand, never stop growing. Once harvested, the plant from an Eternal Seed will revert to its sprout form and begin growing again.

Similar to normal seed packets, plants grown from Eternal Seeds will need to be planted in soil tilled by tools created using the game's many ores. You will also still be required to be watered using a watering can.

This will allow you to continuously grow crops from Eternal Seeds without the need to constantly plant new ones. Of course, that is provided you can get your hands on these crops, as they are not easy to obtain.

How to Get Eternal Seeds

Unfortunately, there isn't a quest or objective for you to complete that will guarantee you an Eternal Seed packet. Since Hytale is in early access, this may come as a future addition.

For now, Eternal Seed packets are obtained by simply harvesting your existing crops. Every time you harvest a crop, you have a small chance to get an Eternal Seed packet of that crop type. For instance, harvesting corn has a chance to drop an Eternal Seed packet for corn.

The best way to obtain these packets is by simply performing the standard farming practices you have grown accustomed to. If you want to go the extra mile, you can plant large fields of the same crop to increase your chances of getting an Eternal Seed packet.

These items can also be obtained from creative mode, but if you want to stick to survival, we wouldn't suggest switching modes.
