Whether it's trudging through the world of Elden Ring, or grinding out raids in Old School Runescape, Laurence is always up for a challenge. However, in real life, his current challenge is learning how to speak Spanish and cooking authentic Mexican cuisine.
A while back, Palworld announced a crossover partnership with Re-Logic and Terraria. We saw one half of that come to fruition through Palworld's huge Tides of Terraria update.
However, finally, we can see the other half, as Pals enter the world of Terraria, ready to help in any way they can. And look cute, of course! Very important, I know...

Digtoise is one of these pals, a handy mining companion to help speed up that early game grind once you start a new Terraria world. Let’s take a look at where we can find this trusty pal and how he can help us on our journey.
Before you even think about heading off to find Digtoise, you’ll want to come prepared with accessories and potions at the ready. The most important of these is the Metal Detector, which can be found by killing the rare Nymph enemy in the underground cavern biome. You can, of course, do it without this, but it may take a little longer.
You might, like me, think that you need a Lifeform analyser, but oddly enough, the Digtoise is treated like an ore rather than an NPC. If you’re in the end-game, bring along your Cell Phone, and you’ll be fine.

In addition, because the Digtoise shell is treated like an ore, a Spelunker potion will help to highlight it in the darkness. Naturally, bring along the best pickaxe you have, a light source to help light your way and maybe a Danger-sense potion for good measure.
The Underground Desert
To anyone who’s been to the underground desert before, you know it’s a pretty hectic biome, and it’s cramped too! Dozens of enemies will be trying to hunt you down as you mine through the narrow corridors and collapsing caverns.
Once you’ve found an entrance, head down and use your buffs. Digtoise is relatively rare, but as long as you’ve got your metal detector, it shouldn’t take you long at all. As you're running around, keep your eye on the data menu on the right. As soon as you see Digtoise, simply explore your surroundings and look for the shell highlighted in red.
Mine the spiky shell, just like an ore, and the Digtoise will pop into your inventory.
Using the Digtoise
The Digtoise is a very helpful mining tool, especially if you can find it early on. One of the first major things you’ll need to do when starting a new Terraria world is to build a hellevator, though with the early game pickaxes, this can be frustratingly slow.
If you use Digtoise, it will mine down 3 blocks at a time, allowing you a nice, wide gap to fall through should you need to head to the lower layers of the map. Simply left-click with Digtoise in your hotbar, and then left-click again in the direction you want Digtoise to mine. It can also mine horizontally if you so wish.
When you’re done, either left-click and it will stop, or simply right-click and the Pal will return to your inventory, ready to be used again. And if you reckon the Digtoise has done a good job, right-click it to give it a pet. How sweet!
