There are plenty of materials and items that you can find throughout Starsand Island, with some of them being difficult to locate. Some of these materials, however, are very useful for those who want to sell them for money.

Honeycomb is one of the more annoying materials to get your hands on in the game. This is because it can be difficult to locate, and you only get a few at a time.

Luckily, there is a way you can get your hands on plenty of honeycomb in Starsand Island. You might just need to make a few trips around the island to get it.

Where to Find Honeycomb

Honeycomb can be found in a few areas around Starsand Island. More specifically, it can be found in beehives hanging from trees around the island.

Two locations seem to have a more likely chance of having beehives spawn in the trees. These are:

Near the temple to the southwest of Cloudrest Lake.
Windflute Island

It is important to note that we have seen beehives in other sections of the island, but they have been few and far between. Because of this, it can be useful to make a pass around the island when you are searching for beehives.

Once you have spotted a beehive, you will need to use your axe to cut the tree down to get the beehive to fall. Once the tree falls, you should find the beehive resting on the ground.

If you are wondering, this is not like Animal Crossing, and the bees will not attack you for disturbing the hive. Walk up to the hive and interact with it to collect items from the beehive.

You will typically find beehives in Banyan Trees and White Figs. While Banyan Trees can be cut down with the Impact Axe, you will need the Machete to cut down a White Fig tree. Both of the blueprints for these tools can be purchased from the shop in town.

Normally, you will get one honeycomb from a beehive. Each beehive we have interacted with has given us a bee as well, so this seems to be consistent.

It is also important to note that you cannot knock a beehive out of a tree. We have attempted to use tools such as the slingshot and bow, but the only successful method is felling the tree with our axe.

What is Honeycomb Used For?

Honeycomb is used to build your own beehives on your farm. The blueprint for this structure is unlocked when you reach the level of Intermediate Rancher at Green Pasture Ranch by completing Pastelle's quests.

Once you have reached this rancher level, you will automatically unlock the blueprint for the beehive. Beehives are built using hardwood planks, honeycomb, and iron sheets. You will not need Carbon Line as you do for crafting bows.

With a beehive crafted, you can use this structure to house the bees you obtained by collecting hives and use them to create honey. If you have a queen bee, you can also use this structure to get some Royal Jelly.
